a few years ago, they changed the rule to force swimmers to break the surface by 15 meeters. just before the rule, it went from 1 swimmer staying underwater the whole time and winning easily to all of them underwater the whole time. I thought it was pretty amazing and a new full underwater race would be fun to watch, but they killed it.
