Update: May 3, 5:17 p.m. ET: In an emailed statement, Celestis announced that all 120 flight capsules included in this mission “are safely in the hands of launch personnel and will be returned to us awaiting our next flight as soon as UP and Spaceport America complete their investigation and any required fixes are implemented.” The company says that, while the rocket was destroyed, the Celestis payload “was unharmed and will be able to be relaunched.” Read more about this developing story here.

It really did massive damage. Look at the sea just as the dust cloud reaches the top of the tower. You need some really large chunks to make splashes that you can see from that distance, and they got thrown hundreds of yards. It's best seen if you watch it fullscreen.

Indeed but in that photo I was more referring to the depth in which they removed that wasn't damaged in order to supply the water system. That place was THICC up near mount,.
Also haven't heard much about the offshore rig launch platforms in awhile. Wonder if the insanity of power made them double take doing that.

Essentially. If you invented FTL and traveled 66 million light years away from Earth, then deployed a telescope powerful enough to see life on Earth, you could watch dinosaurs roam around

I never thought of it like this before. So with FTL and a proper telescope, you could look back in our history and really see shit as it truly happened.

It's not really feasible even disregarding the FTL issue because even from a distance of 5-20 lightyears the telescope you need to resolve anything human sized becomes so huge as to be essentially impossible to construct.

Also means aliens aren't watching you from afar (no guarantees as to from up close though...)

Great vid on this here:
