NASA's Lucy spacecraft made it's first flyby of an asteroid, Dinkinesh.

They suspected it may have a satellite, and this was confirmed in the flyby.

Another shot of the system though provided a surprise, the satellite is a contact binary.

Astronauts dropped the ball bag.

If the ISS is near your location, apparently you can see this with binoculars. We have a flyover on the 14th I'm going to see for myself.

"NASA astronauts Jasmin Moghbeli and Loral O’Hara were conducting a spacewalk from the International Space Station (ISS) on November 2, 2023, when Moghbeli somehow let a tool bag slip away"

"On November 18, 2008, astronaut Heide Stefanyshyn-Piper was performing a similar repair at the International Space Station when she inadvertently lost a tool bag."

Hmmmm.... Is there a pattern here??

Remember these are the same astronauts who were probably flying military jets and ejecting from them because the vanity mirror in the cockpit stopped working.

Looks like we are still waiting on Fish and Wildlife. Goddamn I hate our gov.

I hope this fucker does exactly what it is supposed and approved to do and still lands on a manatee with 5 turtles on its back near Florida.

Elon went into the Fish & Wildlife stuff on this podcast that just came out yesterday. They had to show that they weren't going to somehow injure a shark or cause distress to a seal by the sound of sonic booms. it's absolutely farcical.

lmao they had to capture a seal, stuff him in a board, play sonic booms in headphones then measure how distressed it got

That must be a super accurate measurement. No way there's anything upsetting for the seal about this situation outside of the loudness of the booms.

I don't think people realize just how massive this thing is. I watched them build the tower and I still don't comprehend it.

Well unfortunately I didn't see any tool bag, ball bag, tea bag or any other kind of bag. Tonight was ideal too. I live in an area dark as hell west of LV and the station ran right over my house with a viewing time of 5 mins.

FYI I was using binos, just no joy.
