I enjoyed all the side quests in chap 1-4 but they added to the plot so I did not mind reading shit.

Don't tell me but if they follow standard Asian and FF tropes the "institutionalized religion" is bad in the end and corrupt. FFT FFX. Etc as blatant examples. But we will see.

edit: stupid phones auto correct...need to go back to a physical keyboard phone :) then its just MY natural bad spelling!

I am happy that there already is a follow up in the works and they are not trying to go really a different direction with the game. I feel the re-use is a cop out, and I do not really blame it on time or money... Skyward Sword did the same thing imo and I did not care for it then. However I am enjoying watching the characters trying to figure out just WTF happend like I am doing while playing.

The combat system is fine, for the most part. What is problematic (and easy to exploit) is that Braving 3x at the start of a trash fight and then hitting shit with your most powerful ability (or abilities) means you absolutely dominate the grinding portion of the game to a fairly ridiculous extent. I hope the EQ:N kids don't see this, but I don't mind grinding as long as it requires some interaction. BD has zero interaction with many of the grinding-specific builds. If the next installment either moves away from the need to grind (not necessary) or moves away from having zero interaction required to grind (more interaction = more reward, ie, hitting a weakness then hitting the sub weakness or something should net you bonux XP) would be a big step in removing the tedium. Oh, and not having to kill the same four bosses 5 times each to get the real ending. That too.

The braveing thing was "new" and not in the orig game but put in a 2nd revision of the game to "test" and then put into our standard release. Some build for ez mode grind says the ritualist or whatever has some ability that insta kills anything 20levels lower than you...havent found that- but a valk with some crecent moons can take almost anything out...well before I got to C5...

Conjurer's get that ability called Obliterate, by the time you get it it shouldn't even matter. I was already maxed level and jobs so i turned random encounters off lol

Then again I went overboard on grinding in chapter 6.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD remake out today. Anyone play it yet? Considering picking it up on my vita for travel. Never played X-2 as well but heard it was good?

The job system is good... its a lot of girl power fluff though in terms of story line which turns a lot of people off

I want to pick it up, but I know it will stay shelved for so long that I might as well wait for a price drop.

Haven't even touched LR since the first week it came out.

Ahh its the last jobs ability okay, I thought it was ritualist. Yeah by the time I suppose you get it most/all jobs are going to be maxxed out. I have not mastered any job yet but I just got into C5-
I think its kinda funny that in the 2nd "world" most of the bad guys are nice yet you still just say "fuck you time to die"- I awakend the earth crystal first just to see if going out of order did anything. stupid ringabell died right before the last strike and now he is behind on exp >_< then it autosaved! ARGH I HATE that, in FF1 I HAD to have all my characters level at the same time..... dont answer or do... but the sage is ringabell aint he and its some wierd clone copy respawn thing, and the DK Din guy is/was one also

FFX HD is worth it if you never finished or exped the game, or want it as portable.

I use to have that OCD-esque same level problem, but it faded pretty fast haha. Specially since they'll all end up the same level in the end anyway.

I finished the game last night, the ending was good, I wish it just didn't draw on for 3 chapters that didnt' need to be there.
Onward to FFX!

FFX starts out so slow. Last time I played this game I was in 7th grade I think when it came out, so I didn't understand shit. I was too used to the materia system of 7. Now that I'm playing it tho, I'm really enjoying it. If only Tidus would stop crying

It is slow and actually has quite a big roll up and it spikes fairly big and fast but stays up- then crashes into the ending... its much like the buildup of a large wave. Think they meant to do that analogy? nah...

After Yuna figured out that people can be 'unsent' and no one could tell? why she didnt just go about starting to 'send' everyone she met- would have fixed alot of the annoyances lol..just bust the rod out at your wedding and boom good bye stupid odd hair man

I just had my appendix removed and was bedridden for a few days when FFX came out. That is probably why I actually finished that piece of shit. Last FF game I played the whole way through.

FFX would've been great if Tidus wasn't such a whiny fucking little bitch. I don't know any other accurate way to describe him.

Yeah, Tidus was definitely never one of my favorite FF characters, but I forgot just how much he bitches and moans and cries and makes these weird fucking noises all the time.

Differences in normal vs. expert sphere grid:

In the game's International and PAL versions and the HD Remaster, an Expert option is available at the beginning of the game. The difference between Normal and Expert is that in the Expert mode, each character starts in the middle of a completely different grid design. The player must then decide which path the character will follow. The abilities in both grids are the same (the normal grid is slightly different from the original grid, with extra branches and nodes to fit the new abilities), but the Expert grid has fewer nodes in total than the Normal grid (roughly 50 less), but it still contains enough nodes to maximize the characters' statistics.

If you're planning on DL'ing FFX to your PS3, make sure that you have at least 44GB of available disk space. Why they don't list what you need in the store (you need double the listed game size), I don't fucking know.

What in the actual fuck? How is that possible?

Its because of how the PS3 installs things, it downloads the game (22gigs) and then you have to install it (22gigs) and then it deletes the install file (-22gigs) but during that silly process you need to have 44 free...at least that is how I have come to understand how my PS3 works- but I never really have many games on there so even on my backwards compatable 60gig I dont often run out of space- but when I do I just need to delete silly demos etc.

Back to BD- I am in chapter 6- and they still do trickel plot to you as you do the sub-quests etc. so I am finding it still intruiging to go and take out all the blue marks (sans the hunter that stupid chick is dumb, i just wanted my 1k JP :) it is fun to do it in odd order and it is also kind of funny to see how sometimes they have accounted for doing so in the dialouge.
