Yeah, that should have created quite a mess, but it was a cool scene.

For the argument about whether Alien or Aliens is a better movie, as it relates to the OP, it really doesn't matter. This is about the best sequel ever, not the best sequel vs. source film. If it were the latter I would say Scary Movie 2 wins, because that shit is hands-down better than the original but it is a terrible movie by itself and I feel empty deep down going back to watch it on occasion.

I realize an unsurprising omission and in the name of a minority I shall correct it:The Matrix Reloaded. I don't just say it because of my love for kung-fu movies, but also because it took the Manichean universe set in The Matrix and added a lot of complexity to it, shades of grey, third parties. I'll add that it is to me a very important movie in the history of film because the use of 'realistic' CGI blends perfectly with one of the themes of the movie (what is real? what is not?), making it part of the discourse and not just VFX.

Haha, yep. We used to do that as well, but we did this before T2 was released. One of my friends had a cache of toy guns. He would hide them in his back yard and I would run finding the guns and shooting him to keep him at bay. He had one toy gun made from Legos and I would have to find all pieces and assemble the gun to kill him for good. man, the 80's was awesome.

Yeah, it wasn't mentioned because it's half a fun action movie and half a festering petrified gorilla turd forced in to your eyeholes. You and The Edge need to get together and discuss the deep philosophical impact of the 2nd and 3rd movies.

I don't see how Godfather 2 isn't the clear winner when it's a sequel to a movie that was already considered one of the greatest movies ever and then surpassed that.

Aliens would be my top pick, but only because they never made a sequel to Tombstone.

I get that T2 was a decent movie, but fuck, how can you guys stand Furlong's super shitty acting that much? Ugh. He ruins every scene he's in every time he opens his fucking mouth.
