I could only read the ones from business mags like Forbes, etc... today at work. There seemed to be a generally positive consensus, but like Lenas posted hampered by shoddy controls, camera, and a few mechanics. Ico and SotC both had issues but the good parts overwhelmingly made up for the bad. 10 years of development hell could see that going the other way though. Ico and SotC were just soooo good though and so many fond memories of playing them.

Last Guardian is hovering at 79 on OpenCritic with or without the dozen or so shithead review sites I have blacklisted in my filter. Ico wasn't exactly flawless in its controls or camera either, so that's pretty much what I expected to hear about this game too. Not willing to risk full price on it, but thankfully Gamefly shipped it out yesterday.

played The Last Guardian for about 2 hours, so far I'd rate the game as a 6/10 and not really worth picking up at launch. Its cool and all but feels very, very much like an indie game and I doubt anyone would honestly pay much attention if the background of the game development itself (10 years, ps2 to ps3 to ps4, etc) wasn't such a big part of it. One of the trophies requires you to finish the game in under 5 hours so you get an idea of how long the game really is.
At this point I'd say its worth a play through, especially if you like animals, but not really worth going out of your way to get it now. I'll play, maybe try for the plat trophy, and then trade it in while the TIVs are still high. Its a game that seems worth more like $20-25 than $60 though.
The visuals are pretty good but not really that amazing (playing on PS4Pro so no FPS issues for me, ps4 ppl are reporting regular frame dips), your giant pet dog is very cool, the controls are bad but not as bad as ReCore, and its not in english or japanese but some made up language (with subtitles) so that is either annoying or interesting I guess. I've never played ICO or Shadow of the Colossus so maybe I lack the background to truly appreciate this game.

Honestly you would see pretty much every deal that spronk posts here on Slickdeals if you really cared. Spronk just enables you lazy fuckers.
I'm sure some are from neofag or something but SD will have them with enough time to purchase if you have some alerts set or just browse through regularly

actually i just leave a browser window open on Wario64 (@Wario64) | Твиттер and 99.999% of deals are posted there, its only deals too makes it easy. follow him too so it'll popup on my phone if my browser is closed. rarely browse slickdeals/cag anymore

New Last of Us patch improved the 1080p and 4k modes, but removed the supersampling options. People pretty grumpy about that I guess.

^ not suprising, I own BO3 gold digitally and IW gold digital and I'd rather play BO3 any day. Modern Warfare is really good though, and the IW sp campaign is pretty good but the MP is just balls

Haha, I've thought this a few different times.
I got pretty addicted to chasing the deals back in 2015 after I had quit the EQ TLP servers, and didn't have anything to play. Between Slickdeals, and Cheapass Gamer, I was basically just browsing those all day while at work, and then making deals happen after I got off work or on the weekend. Back then it was mainly the Ps4 trade in deals. My issue is I loved getting the deal, but then never played the game. Plenty of times I bought the game on deal, and traded it in without ever playing it, because I had to get the next deal and needed the trade in money to keep the whole pyramid scheme going! lol

Honestly both the Xbox and PS4 lineup does not really grab me. Also I need to see it to believe it with Sony. I'd be shocked if they actually released half of those by 2018.
God of War and Last of Us 2 are the only day 1 buys for me. Uncharted spinoff most likely too. I liked persona and gravity rush on vita so I may pick those up when they go on sale.
The Xbox exclusives don't have me excited at all but I'm hearing nice things about Crackdown 3 on Scorpio. Still doesn't mean day 1 buy. (Mildly interested in this sea of thieves)
Probably do a trade in on my PS4 for the pro. I missed out on that GS deal since it was in the other thread from 2014 and I was too late in viewing it since the big
deals usually go here.
