But since we're on the topic, Why would you need to chain report? Just report the latest post you found disagreeable and mention it had been a mess for the last day and let them sort of out and decids. I appreciate you claiming laziness, but in this case you seemed to make an extra effort to publicly express displeasure on the discussion in this thread. Shrug, but seemed weird.

Let's just be honest. The more social justice cultism infects more industries and aspects of our lives, the more contentious these threads will get. Mods have already created a forum for controversy and bullying (ooooooohhh) so may as well just segregate the entire forums based on that premise. People noticed an odd occurrence in the Xbox event and it was rapidly defended with charges of racism. Some people clearly want a sanitized experience where such things can be ignored and are taboo tondiscuss. Just create a safe space for non-controversial discussion and every thread can have a sanitized mirror thread for trigger free posting.

I do think that Microsoft has a winning formula with the GamePass business. I've played many games now that I would not have touched were it not for GamePass AND gotten some games that I wanted badly on day one.

Maybe, but Xbox hasn't shown anything worth buying a Series X for, yet. Stick with PC + GamePass and you should be set. Only reason to get a Series X is that it will probably be a "cheap" upgrade to a nice PC (current). Everything I've seen that I would want to play is either coming out on PC or Ps4/Ps5, I just hope the Ps5 isn't $700 (my guess is $500-$600).

This game of chicken is ridiculous but wow was the 23rd a huge perception misstep on MS's part. Sony wow'ed, and MS was basically saying, don't worry about having to buy a new console because your games will still look like they did on the old one. Nothing about the strategies has changed and I think everyone is comfortable with their lane. Neither wants to be undercut and doesn't want to appear weak by responding to the other's price with a price cut after announcement. So the game goes on; not even pre-orders will force their hands necessarily but stores will eventually force someone, probably MS to make a move. MS also potentially has the Series S to potentially deploy still so they may go first and a little higher once they feel confident in having enough of each (assuming that its still a real thing, after the Halo Infinite demo who knows what's going on at MS?).

We know SJW and related shit is going to bleed in to all areas of the forum. There's no way to stop that and that's not what we're trying to do. When the focus of the discussion strays from (in this thread) consoles to more generalized SJW shit, we encourage you to take the discussion to Gamergate or another, more appropriate thread. Encouraging derails to go to the appropriate thread is nothing new around here and we prefer that over forcibly moving them.

This is not to create a safe space, just to keep discussions somewhat on topic.

I don’t now if 100 bucks is going to make difference for myself as such. It will on sony’s sales, sure. I got a ps4pro, so I’ll probably hold on til the pro/better version of the ps5 comes out. Also huge backlog of titles to play. If all the digital titles transfer easy to ps5 I might consider a speedy upgrade though. Haven’t’ touched pc in almost a year due to work, but I will at some point ofc. I wonder if the ps equivalent of gamepass will change that fundamentally on the ps5 platform. Haven’t tried it yet on ps4.
Mostly I’m just annoyed I got so many steam titles and hardly play them, heh. Would be fun if sex box would run windoze/steam client though, that’d be awesome.

About the lack of price reveal, I am not sure if they are playing a game of chicken with each other or if it's because the price will be higher than expected / hoped. I suspect the main factor is the higher level of uncertainty caused by the pandemic (changes in policies could affect just about anything in the long chain that goes from the production to the consumers). The idea being that to minimize the risks of bad surprises, they wait as long as possible to decide on the price.

If you're in the ecosystem in some form it's mission accomplished as far as Microsoft is concerned. Series X is just the latest vector. I'll be happy when Sony gets to this point... they don't need to take a loss selling me hardware to get my money.

fall guys is really cool, its basically 60 player kids platforming battle royale. I watched some streams over the weekend and it looks really fun especially if you have younger kids. Its cross play too I believe, at least I saw PS4 players matched with PC players.

My experience with gamepass is playing mediocre titles I wouldn’t otherwise buy anyway and the only one I actually played through to completion was Outer worlds, which fell fairly flat at the end anyway. With that said, I got three years for 80 bucks when I had a renewal on Xbox live and bought that two year live card at Costco and flipped the entire sub to ultimate for three years for a buck. So basically 81 bucks for three years of gamepass ultimate.

I expected low cost development of games for the service, and 99% of it is that. I also expected free to play games to gain market penetration to sell MTX or 3rd party AAA titles launching on it a year after initial launch in the hopes people would buy MTX or DLC if they liked the game. It’s pretty much that. 1st party Microsoft titles are a joke right now, and that doesn’t seem to be changing in the slightest.

Microsoft has become out of touch with its customer base and PS5 exclusives will dominate the upcoming generation. Anything else cross platform I can just play on my new rig now. I don’t even need a 4K player any longer because Atmos and Dolby vision are on Netflix and when I order movies for rent (right now Xbox one X but I’m guessing this will change when PS5 comes out).

Nothing about the new Xbox excites me in the slightest.

sounds like microsoft is gonna make online multiplayer free, slowly get rid of games with gold, and make gamepass the single sub service they offer. kinda interesting but it doesn't really change the landscape much. if you like to play 3-4 new games a month but don't really care about the quality, then gamepass is great. if you wanna play 10/10 immersive exclusive story games, you need dat PS5. steam for playing Tranny Simulator 2021
