Puppeteer at that price is a steal. I'm going to have to buy that. People seem to really love it, though it hasn't sold much due to Sony giving it almost no promotion at all.

Tales of Xillia is also definitely a great buy at that price if you like RPGs.

I think it'll be closer as time goes on and XB1 actually has its big titles (Halo, Gears of War). I think people were drawn to PS4 being cheaper/more powerful, but once the heavy hitters start coming out people are going to double console and 360 owners are going to finally upgrade.

I still think overall PS4 will be something like 50-60% of total market with XB1 40-50% when all is said and done.

Xbox one has some very big titles coming out, and this is right when they launch there lower cost system.

Both consoles are doing very well which is good for gamers.

I wouldn't disagree with this but I'd add the caveat that exclusive titles are going to play an even bigger role this generation once Xb1's cloud starts getting used and PS4 specs start being pushed.

The Cloud? Really guy? The cloud is the worst marketing nonsense.


Microsoft needs to beef up their first party studios and compete with Sony with high quality games, not magical secret sauce that doesn't exist.

MS has good exclusives so far, they easily won the launch war.

If you look down the pipe its Titanfall vs Second Son as the next exclusives to come out.

Gotta love those blind fanboys. I'm not just hating on you Column, the Sony ones are just as bad.

Both systems are horrible because of the incredibly limited amount games on their systems, there is no reason to have one until they start pumping out the games.

Arguing over which launch titles were *slightly* less mediocre than the other is silly. If you want to go by sales, Sony won on software for launch & December according to the NPD.

PS2 and Dreamcast wiped the floor with both of the systems just released.

I'm not really here to argue just don't understand how you can think either are a success at this point in time.

You are of course wrong, the american Dreamcast launch wasn't it the official world launch.
The original Dreamcast launch had a terrible library as well as the PS2 launch.

Success is subjective when you are talking about opinion of games.
The statement was the Xbox one wiped the floor with the PS4 launch exclusives.

Forza, Dead rising 3, Killer Instinct, and Ryse are all better games then Knack, and Killzone.

That's highly debatable.

Going by a metacritic score strictly above 75 (what is considered 'good' by their standard), PS4 has 17 good titles and the XB1 8. On top of that, 5 of those 8 games are available on PS4, leaving Forza 5, Dead Rising 3 and Peggle 2. On the other hand, 9 of the PS4 good games are not available on XB1.

Now, if you limit the panel to 'full retail games' (for lack of a better term) you get 9 vs 7. If you narrow it further to 'full retail game not available in any shape of form on another machine' you get 0 vs 2. Massive XB1 victory!


As to why these consoles launched 'without games', I would say it's very relative to the rate at which you consume games, how broad your interests are and what you owned before (as there are several games that are ports or HD remakes of titles that were available on the previous gen or on PC).


Assassin's Creed + an online shooter + a racing game + a sport game + 3 or 4 shorter digital download games is plenty to keep busy the average gamer several months.



PS: I should add that the best rated current gen game is the Flower HD remake (play it if you have not! Short but sweet and will see many repeated play as stress reliever).

PPS: Ryse and Killer Instinct are both rated under Killzone on metacritic.

Just looking at my above list that I linked there is 10 titles you can not get on any other platform then the Xbox one
