A few weeks ago the Xbox One was cheap as fuck at Windows stores. If you turned in your last gen console you got 100 dollars off. Plus 50 dollar coupon off in addition (free live) and a free game (Destiny at the time). You also got a pre-packaged game and the two people I know got Forza or Fifa, I don't remember. Basically whole kit and kaboodle for like 250 bucks.

My first friend came in and they gave him the deal and he told his brother. His brother came in and did the same thing and they admitted the extra 50 dollar coupon thing wasn't supposed to happen, but they gave it to him and told him not to spread it around. A month has passed now so it's probably no longer in effect.

That's apparently going to be regular price soon Xevy (on my birthday of all days to use - Nov 2), if you've not been keeping up. And the same promo is going on right now for the coupon thing (plus Best Buy also doing it).

Not a bad deal however I just can't consider trading in my PS3 yet, still so many games I need to play on it. I have considered buying a used 360 off Craigslist with a bunch of games just to trade in when ebgames (GameStop) has trade in offers. Apparently I am too lazy to do the full calculations to see if it's worth it.

Traded in my dust collecting vita and basically got my money back for it. The trade in deals can be excellent but like you I'm enjoying my PS3.

4 weeks in, Driveclub is still broken enough that the PS+ edition was officially delayed until further notice yesterday by Shu... but not bad enough that they'll turn away anyone willing to give them money for it.

The only reason it's not on plus is it would kill what little sales they are getting IMO.

Update 2.0 just bricked my PS4. Keeps restarting into safe mode over and over. I tried every safe mode option from system software, default settings, rebuild database, initialize ps4, (initialize ps4 reinstall system software) and it still boots into safe mode. Guy on the phone tried to sale me a ps4 extended warranty cause mine expires in 15 days or so I told them if I needed an extended warranty less then a year after I buy a new system then I'm buying an xb1.

So now the wait for shipping box and 2 week turn around time to get a hopefully repaired system. Good thing I didn't want to play CoD all that bad.

That sucks. I had a brick PS4 at launch (thanks Amazon!) and the turn around to get a replacement from Sony was surprisingly quick and painless. Got my PS4 launch day (Nov 15), had the new one back in my hands the 22nd (tracking info).

Oh I fucking love Amazon. They would have shipped me a replacement to use overnight while I waited for the box to get here to send the other one back. If Amazon handled returns for Sony I'd be up and running tomorrow.

For Halloween this year, I broke out Resogun for the PS4. That was the free PS+ game for release and a few other months. It was a lot of fun re-playing it, and it kept me entertained all (constantly pausing) night.

Was trying to stay out of the conversation - but my experience with Sony replacing my PS3 was pretty similarly awesome Fadaar. I called them, they put a hold of $250 on my CC or something and the replacement PS3 got there the same time as the box to send back my broken one (which had gotten broken because of my damn cat knocking it off the dresser - and they still honored the warranty with me being honest about what happened - that was the day I decided entertainment centers do have a place in the bedroom...) and hold came back off the card in like 5-6 days once the broken system got to them - with no more fuss than the hold and a few days that the shipping took.

I think they even had the tracking number for it going out before the next morning.

I'm sure some places do returns better than Sony's Playstation side - but MS's XBox side definitely ain't one.... multiple weeks of limbo without secondary options, getting stuff back broken the same way AFTER PAYING THEM TO FIX IT, etc. not had good luck with them.

microsoft is really trying hard, apparently if you buy a new xbox one and register it on xbox live before nov 3d you will get a free digital copy of ryse. i don't know when the start date is, like if you bought it 2 weeks ago is it too old or what i dunno

tomorrow really looks like a sweet spot to buy an xbox one. $349 price drop, everywhere, for the non kinect bundles. few deals going on too at various stores. i have a $100, 5%, and $50 GC at the microsoft store so gonna try to combine em all and see if i can pick up a new sunset overdrive xbox one for $185.

I just went thru Sony's little thing for my PS4 replacement(Blu-Ray drive died), warranty covered the whole thing, didn't even have to give them a CC# too get the new PS4 sent to me, Sent me the new PS4 and the box had the return labels inside for it.

Wow, really? They're not even putting a CC hold for it now?! I find that hard to believe with a $400 piece of hardware.

It might be the rep you talk too, person who did my RMA said they've been having a lot of issues lately especially with the Blu-Ray drives.
