Just FYI, Rocket League is the sleeper PS4 exclusive (edit: nvm, it's on PC too, just no XBONE). It's my favourite game on the system so far. It's free this month to PS+ subscribers, but it'll probably only be $20 or so next month.
Also, is anyone else in the situation I'm in? The only person I know who has a PS4 IRL is my brother... everybody else has an XBONE. Wtf is this shit?

Is it something to do with sports games, too? Seems like everybody is under the impression XBONE is better for sports... is this true? Why?

Ya, Sony is really just trouncing MS so far this generation. I still wonder if down the line XBone will be the superior console choice due to superior functionality (game streaming, kinect integration, media functionality, etc).
Either way, the second they show a decent exclusive (or my Roku3 dies) I'm pulling the trigger on a XBone for the bedroom. Have my eye on Sea of Thieves, Ashen, and Scalebound. Hell if I can find a used one cheap I might buy one for SMITE.

Crackdown would be the main reason I would ever get a xbone. Game is really similar to Just Cause where you can just spend hours roaming around looking for collectibles and blowing up shit. Also the rare collection cause Perfect Dark and Conker are awesome.

in general all games are slightly better technically on ps4 since it has the edge on power, many games are 1080p on ps4 and 720-900p on xbox one. However the difference is trivial for most people and most won't be able to tell the difference. Its also possible a future OS upgrade (Win10, DirectX 12) may even the power differential.
The sports thing is because of EA Access, for $5/mo to EA (or like $35/yr?) you get like 6-7 "free" EA sports games and a few other EA games. Its only on xbox one, PSN doesn't have it since I guess they didn't want it to compete with PS+. If you don't like sports games EA Access is terrible, but if you like em its probably a decent deal. Sports games drop in value super fast so it doesn't really make $$ sense to rent them from EA vs just buying them at discount, but I guess if you live paycheck to paycheck its cheaper.

Weird, it's just EA access? Some of my friends are under the distinct impression that certain sports titles are exclusive to Xbone. These people aren't gaming enthusiasts by a long shot. They only play whatever NFL/NHL/etc game is current and maybe COD or Mortal Kombat. I haven't cared about a sports game since Mario Tennis/NBA Jam/HotShots golf, so I'm kinda out of the loop. Always sounded suspect to me though.

Even aside from Sports, EA Access is nice. Free Need for Speed, Battlefield, Titanfall, PvZ, Peggle and soon Dragon Age is worth the $30/year. Get ~6 hour trials of most/all EA titles which has led me to playing a lot more of them (usually enjoy the 'my player' modes.
EA Access is why I bought Dragon Age when it released.
It's also nice for sports gamers to get that time before release and then when you get the retail copy (got a fix already, don't have to bother with midnight release, etc) there's no install out anything.
Just a lot of little things adding up to a nice value for most use cases, even if you have a passing interest at best in some of the titles, and is a no brainer if you're a Live/UFC/NHL/Madden/FIFA.
For people that don't trade in often it pays for itself with the 10% off EA titles after a few releases.

do you just have the one controller? if not do both act the same way.
When you say reset do you mean, power off and on or resync with the usb cord?

you can reset a dualshock 4 there's a pin hole on the bottom. try a different cable too the one that comes with the ps4 sucks. if you are using the DS4 on a PC it will reset every time you switch between PC/console, better to buy a second one just for PC.
