Not really into the Far Cry series and I'm over the Souls games. Don't own a Wii U, and Uncharted... Well... I could never get into the other ones for more than an hour before putting it down forever. Maybe this one will be different, but I'm more likely to pick it up cheap and used like a J49 hooker.

Good point with the release date stuff though. Didn't even notice that.

overwatch is scheduled for around may-june 2016. I'd preorder Division, Deus Ex HR, and Uncharted 4 in one order, all those arrive in 1/2 half of 2016 - although maybe DXHR got delayed last week? Then there is Doom, ReCore, Ratchet and Clank, Street Fighter 5, For Honor, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Kingdom Hearts 3, FF 15, Quantum Break, and Gears of War 4. But the dates on those are all ?? and we probably won't know until E3, June. Oh, Odin Sphere is a game that has a release date too now, April 2016.

Mighty 9 and Life is Strange is due soon but both are $40 games I think, as is Ratchet & Clank

dunno how bestbuy.ca works but amazon and bestbuy.com don't charge (credit card) until the game ships, and you can cancel anytime. I have pretty much all those games preordered and cancel if the early vibes are bad.

You can also cancel a pre order and still get the 30% off deal.

2 weeks ago I preordered FO4, Xenoblade and Far Cry with a 20% pre order deal. I got FO4 but then last night canceled the other 2 and reordered them for the 30% off deal. You only pay when they are shipped so its pretty win win.

This goes a bit against my "don't preorder over a year in advance" as I don't think you can lose, however for me its more of a philosophical issue about confirming sales before we even know 1 thing about the product.

Depends on how many games you will have. They add up quick. You're basically trading load speed for storage obviously, and I would say based on all the bench marks I see, and depending on the game, about a 50-60% decrease in load times. Know though that every game is installed on the HD regardless of if you own the disc or not. I think I have about 700 go left. About 30 games installed along with apps.

Surprising that Black Ops 3 topped the list considering it wasn't even on sale anywhere for PS4/Xbone

Also I thought Xbone was going to trump the PS4 - it seemed they were pushing Xbone deals like crazy, plus the free games - hell, even one deal an XBone came with the TV if you bought it. Sony just said "here, uncharted collection bundle"

Don't preorder games. There is literally zero reason to do so. Most all the games come with the launch day code anyway.

Wait for reviews, all the time.

^ except for you know, deals where you get 30% off at best buy canada like Quaid said or you get $10 preorder bonuses at best buy. Its way smarter to preorder, and then cancel the week before release if leaks say the game is bad.

Anyways for anyone who didn't go out and buy all their stuff on Black Friday, PS4's will be $299 starting Dec 7th with the battlefront bundle and the Uncharted bundle. Uncharted 4 Beta should begin Dec 4th, you just need to run Uncharted Collection to play it. Next week (Dec 6-12th) Best Buy is going to run a B2G1F promo on all new PS4/Xbone games, but excluding Fallout 4 and Battlefront.

Was so pissed when I saw a .CA friend quote getting a 30% discount on Dark Souls 3 P/O - I was so in for it.... then I realized he's Canadian and.... =(

Sony did way more then that. My email is filled to the brim with insane deals from Sony store, Slickdeals, Amazon, Gamestop, and Best Buy. Sony pushed very hard as well.

Hell they had better deals on their games mostly. That was a factor for many people. Ass syndicate/Metal gear got as low as $20 on Ps4 but stayed $50 ish on on xbone minus GCU/combo deals. I'm just glad all 3 systems sold well. Better deals for us.

Don't Canadians also pay a 20-30% premium over the US in games anyway?

Edit: Varies by current exchange rates obviously.

It's possible, no idea, he just quoted the 30% discount not what he ended up paying for it. Conversion rates weren't that bad when I was living close to the border in Rochester but that was nearly two decades ago.

Current price is $79.95 for most AAA some are $74.95. Exchange rate is really bad right now, If you could figure out a way to order online in Canada with your USD you would be very much ahead.

If you lived in Washington (state) that would be ideal - pay no income taxes, drive down and shop in Oregon and pay no sales tax on purchases, drive up to Canada and abuse the exchange rate and probably get a refund on all taxes paid for items. Of course, you'd be surrounded by grunge hippies and live in weather that drives you to suicide.

Well I don't sign up for any of the mailing lists, so I don't see that. I was going by printed ads.
