So... I got an xbone, although I have been gungho on PS4.

The Target 20% a shopping trip card explicitly excluded ps4 and xb1- so that was my main plan of attack for a ps4.. so I kinda just let it ride as there is no real push for me to get one...

Well, Target price match GameStop 299% + 15% off cartwheel for XB1 bundles + 5% off pharmacy coupon and 5% redcard got me to like 250$ out the door on an xbox one (gears of war, that's all they had in stock) - and wow...this UI is just...what the heck is this? coming from the ps3 XMB this is like, harsh.

Should I return it? I don't really play much multi player stuff, and what stuff I do get to play is single player and I have a few collections of PS1/2 stuff bought on my PSN account like old RPGs, Castlevania etc. should I get a ps4? its mostly a 50$ difference because I would not have the 15% cartwheel thing.. I mean I still have my ps3 so I am not like missing anything per say- I would just have to swap consoles lol. I am kind of excited to play all the halo's again as I didn't play 3 or 4 and the XB1 does have bluray, Netflix hulu and sling (ps4 does not have sling)

it just depends on how much you value a game. ps4 is definitely the better console, but xbox one has EA Access - $20-30/yr gets you a ton of sports games for free if you are into that - and tomb raider and halo are exclusive. PS4 has uncharted and some JRPGs. i don't think anyone really benefits from having both, but the cost of the console now is fairly trivial - basically 5 games. if you can find 5 games you REALLY wanted to play that are console exclusive, it pretty much pays for itself.

Just like movies and TV there are infinitely more things to do than any human has time for, so it just boils down to picking what are the things you REALLY want to play. For me GTA5, The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Forza Horizon 2, Uncharted Collection/4, Syndicate, and Destiny made both consoles worth it. I never felt that with Wii U, like I was missing out on anything by not playing the games I owned. Some people are the exact opposite, feeling their wii u games are priceless and the ps4/xbone games are generic/mass appeal.

don't forget though that you pretty much need XB Gold or PS+ to really play on either of these consoles nowadays, since every game is multiplayer. That comes out to $30-50/yr for each console too, although you get some free games (90% of them are crappy).

I really haven't had time to play any of the games I DO have on my ps3, very rare... so I suppose game selection really does not matter... I haven't played Halo 3, 4 or 5 - but I was able to do all the God of Wars on my PS3 so I suppose its time to swap over and do the halo thing, by the time I really care again most likely will be PS5 and Xbox One^2 time lol...

Oh crap, just remembered I did the kick starter for IGAs "castlevania" game and I was so confidant by "q1/2 2016" that I would by then have a ps4 I selected ps4 as my disc version...I suppose I should go change that!

Yeah, I am still up in the air... I hate how MS nickle and dimes u- just like the 360 I was annoyed because I had to buy and wifi, buy a "HD" player regardless of format war.. etc etc.. and now, the dumb controller uses batteries? not built in recharge? - I seem to be lucky that I have a "new" controller that has a built in 3.5mm port rather than having to buy an adapter...or that would be another thing I would have to buy to be equivalent to ps4?

oh well, got it at a good price- the PS4 is not backwards compatible so I would need to have my old 60gb ps3 loafing around anywho, and I get to play Halo

PS4 UI could be fixed with some ability to sort and make folders. Xbone UI needs to be completely recreated.

On a similar note, does anyone that has an Xbone have serious lag using some of the media apps? I'm talking specifically about watchESPN and Sling. The lag is so bad it takes like 2 minutes to pull up and if I have to switch channels it is awful. I have also had multiple freezes and sometimes the content just wont display at all. Don't have any problems with the any PS4 apps on the same switch, so it's not my internet.
