I don't think the Dolphins overpaid for Tannehill. He's a solid QB.
I agree, I don't think they over paid either. I don't think Carolina over paid either to be honest. Its the game we live in today, if you have a guy who has the franchise qb moniker he has to get paid. There is no way around it.

The sad fact is that teams have to pay something along those lines to a QB who doesn't suck. We're not even really talking elite here, just have a QB who doesn't suck and doesn't lose you games all by his lonesome and you have to give him a shit load of guaranteed money because the alternative is having a QB that sucks. It's only going to get worse as the cap expands too. 10-15% of your overall cap, or more, is pretty much expected.

So far hes worth it. Most wins by a QB since his rookie season. And 2 back to back Super Bowl appearances. The Dolphins and Panthers way overpaid for what they have.
Tannehill is miles ahead of Wilson. Wilso 's essentially being paid a fuck ton of money because he's lucky enough to start his career with one of the all time great defenses

Wilson's lowest rated season QB rating is better than Tannehill's highest rated. Wilson's highest season interceptions is lower than Tannehill's lowest. Is Richard Sherman coming out and guiding all of Wilson's decisions as well?

Yeah, pretty much. When you have a defense you never think will give up any points, you can afford to be much safer with the ball.

Having one of the best RBs in the game doesn't hurt either

Disagree totally. Tanehill and Newton are solid. Who else you going to pick up that can actually win you games?

Wilson is 100% worth that price tag.

Yeah I think all three are worth their cost. They're young and they're talented. A team without a strong presence and consistency at the position is doomed to obscurity. I mean just look at the Bills. If they had Wilson they'd be in the SB contender conversation. But they don't. So they aren't.

I like our Bengals fans. They much more reasonable and objective compared to, say, our 49ers fans.
Hey, a couple of us are actually quite rational and level headed! A couple others, well maybe not so much. Not naming any names!

That's looking at it too narrowly though. Wilson is asked to basically not turn the ball over. He does that really well, but at the cost of actually being productive (hasn't had a season over 3,500 yards). This, in turn, inflates his QB rating.

It works for Seattleright nowbecause they've got an amazing team built around him. If you put him on almost any other team though, he'd be required to actually carry the team like most other QB's. Can he? I don't know.

Once again, the Seahawks didn't have a choice. That's just what you pay a franchise QB. But when the pieces around him finally move on, it'll be interesting to see if he's actually worth a shit as an NFL QB.

If you don't pay your above average QB big money you risk becoming the Browns. Nobody wants to be the Browns. Not even the Browns.

Shit, sometimes you even have to pay average QBs. See Kaepernick, Smith, and Dalton.

But Dalton's contract is basically the opposite of Wilson's where he'll never see the money since it is largely incentive based. I think he lost like 7M or something on escalators by not winning the SB last year.
