Sweets and Snacks Show will be in Chicago in 3 weeks. Sadly, only industry people and press are allowed in. The last day though, the booths would hand out bulk candy like it was going out of style. This is a good website I have found for rating new candy.

This shit was so sweet it made your teeth ache.

I used to buy them when I was in school, but they were rock-hard so you had to keep em in your pocket for an hour till they softened up. Then they became godlike.

and why are these so hard to find now? I find the regular all the time but the chewy Gobs is where it's at!

I do like celery, but it's not like diabetes made me never eat candy.
I just had to be so much more careful when trying any of it.
Before insulin pumps it was much more of a trial that could potentially end up with me in the hospital.
I've learned how to deal with any spikes better due to the pump, but after almost 20 years of not eating tons of candy, the sugar rush isn't as enticing without some awesome flavor being required.
I envy kids with insulin pumps today, they count carbs rather than evaluate what might kill them.
Dude, this summer marks my 20 year anniversary of having an insulin pump. I was the youngest kid that Minimed had on a pump for a while, then some cake eater 6 year old got one, but at least that little nerd had to wear it on his back so only his mommy could give him insulin. /nelsonlaugh.

I did a 10 hour long road trip this week, and man did I pound Good'N'Plentys. Those things are amazing, especially when you leave them on your dash long enough to get warm so that they're kinda soft. Winning.

RE: Treesong and his salt licorice- My cousin lived in Norway for a while and came home with a passionate love for salt licorice. It bugged me so bad, because I couldn't understand why he liked it. When I finally went to Northern Europe and had the best fresh real salt licorice (with sugar on it too), I finally understood. That stuff is legit.

I know it isn't the most innovative candy choice, but have people had these little Reeses thingers? They're amazing, and you can just pound them into your face like a starving refugee camper. No wrapper, but they don't all stick together, and they're small enough to be perfect. Best eaten cold- so they're obv not a car food, which is where I eat 90% of the candy I ever eat.... but they're amazing. Like the Reeses fairies all got together and had little baby fairies that poop Reeses joy into your mouth. And you swallow it.

I was a big fan of Lemon Jolly Ranchers, and some asshole decided they weren't good enough to make anymore.

How have these little bastards not been mentioned yet? Occasionally you'll get one that is somehow 10x more sour than the others and start to tear up from the pain. It's like candy Russian roulette.
