I’ve been watching this overnight while taking care of baby and am really enjoying it.

The challenges are a bit confusing since they’re so multi-layered with many different rules. Watching the strategies develop and how they approach the game is pretty interesting.

StarCraft player Grrrr is the only round eye in the competition. The rest are Korean and vary from scientist to celebrity. Honestly most of them come off as pretty smart, a couple of them very smart.

Pretty cool seeing a show based around puzzles and such though. Just going off memory they’ve had the following:

Virus - Similar to Mafia or Werewolf with expanded rules and some extra craziness.
Secret Number - Have to guess your number and everyone else’s using only additon, multiplication, and division. No one knows their own number or anyone else's at the start, just some general rules about what they could be.
Rules Race - Contestants play a board game that consists of a Monopoly style field, roll a die, and move spaces. Before the game they each made up their own rule based on a series of statements and conditions that could occur. Goal is to be the 1st person across the finish line. I honestly found this game a little boring and repetitive b/c it devolved to almost a singular strategy.
Laying Grass - Kind of a combination of Go, Tetris, and a couple of other things. Build territory and make a # x # square with different shaped pieces.

There are also group games in between the main challenges where everyone works together to increase the prize pool. Episode 4 was bonkers. These are usually straightforward puzzles.

I guess there's a whole genre of this in South Korea? The Genius was apparently a hugely popular show over there that is a reality mind game show. Going to try and find a stream of that one while waiting for new episodes of this.
