To start I would like to formally apologize to
Ambiturner
and
Ritley
. The way I went about my discourse was rather unnecessary, needlessly snarky, anatomically gross and added very little to the conversation. In my infinite foolishness I broke my long standing rule regarding drinking and shit posting in the wee hours of the morning. It is no excuse but only an explanation and I am by no means proud of it. Yes I am a bit of an Elden austist, guilty as charged. I'll admit it. And obviously FromSoft isn't perfect in their execution. I thought SOTE needed more content in some areas but I understand with a pipeline of 7 games at once compromises must be made. Like you said they keep upping the quality each time. I suppose my larger issue lies with Nintendo, not FromSoft. I never wanted a boycott, just the prospect of a port to other consoles even years down the line. I have little issue with timed exclusives. Dark Souls 1 had huge success partly because it was on most 7th gen consoles, allowing major sales. I just have a hard time seeing this IP having longevity if it is locked behind a permanent console exclusive. There are exceptions every company has their "flagship game". Somewhere deep in my psyche I may have some unresolved tension with Nintendo and their strict management of IPs, only to then sell us an emulator that was mid tier at launch, yes it's a grudge years old but I have watched them grow into something I no longer recognize, long gone are the days of Game Cube golden era.
I hope we can have a better conversation about other games when my brain isn't pickled by booze and Nintendo fueled resentment.

Nintendo gets "mainstream" games 4-5 years later, typically at worse performance than the counterparts. By the time they release they aren't technically competitive anymore, so everyone that has already moved on laughs and says, "oh wow buddy that's some great 1080p you got there". Or they fire up their Switch emulator and play the game at 4x whatever Nintendo can put out.
We are talking about a brand-new release in 2025 being graphically rivaled by its spiritual predecessor that's over 10 years old. The graphics aren't what make the games but you're going to get laughed at if you act like the graphics or performance are impressive in literally any way.
Brand new system that rivals the cost of a Playstation 5 btw.

Well, so far my thread on this game is pretty much in the toilet. A bunch of complaining about the system it's on and a bunch of arguing about...IDK what.
Yeah, looking forward to playing this on the Switch 2 for a week or two, not expecting anything earth-shattering. Pretty much like Nightreign.
Also Nintendo sucks in the modern era, with their underpowered consoles and Waggle Motion and Dongle Integration. This new system actually has some horsepower, so they're gonna gouge us on the price. It is what it is, getting it either way, would appreciate not being gouged more than is necessary.

I'd argue that Nintendo is the only console worth buying in the modern era, the system with the most 1st party exclusives and even some 3rd party ones now. At least they have a gimmick of having the portable switch. Playstation and Xbox are literally underpowered pcs that offer nothing in the same regard.

It could have been a one off a la Déraciné that highlights some feature / tech demo of the Switch 2. Having it so closely “in the spirit of” other mainline From games just feels wrong. Maybe it is incredible, who knows. Looks like turd to me so far. Will buy used off eBay with the Switch 2 Pro OLED.
