We have a unique opportunity here to get some information on a product some of us are at least a little interested in... I don't think it's useful asking absurd/irrelevant/insulting questions just because an angry and vocal minority wants them asked. Utnayan supposedly has the l33t beta inf0z anyway, let him find out himself instead of ruining our good will with this Zenimax rep over some bullshit ego trip.

Just because you don't care doesn't mean others don't and his questions are no less important then yours or anyone elses.

I get you hate the guy the thing is, I don't care. If it's a community Q&A and he's taking questions from the community then they should all be included unless they are obvious dick questions. Wanting to know how someone feels about the game isn't a dick question no matter who is involved. Don't agree? cool. I don't care as much as you don't care about my not caring. See how that works?

But man... Those questions were 90% passive aggressive attacks. Do I want to know the answers to some of them? Sure... But let's call a spade a spade. We're all more intelligent than that.

They aren't passive aggressive attacks. I am curious if they will answer them. (Of course they won't - they never answer anything of substance. No one in this genre does)

What does Todd Howard think of this game being made, especially now that it is being sold as "Skyrim" multiplayer? Where the fuck is RvR at? How much of the game is being cut due to being behind schedule? And yeah, I would even like to know when Matt Firor and Paul Sage are filling everyone's head full of shit during their "interviews" if they quite literally, at happy hour, laugh at the ridiculous nature of what they are telling the public. Why the stop starts to begin with? Obviously I know of one which was based on complete failure of another title, but what about the second? When they sat around the table and discussed the blue print doc, didn't one person yam up and say, "Hey guys... We could use persistence in this RvR persistent MMORPG... Ya think?" Instead of making a Call of Duty-esque system. These are all valid questions to which I would love to know the answers first hand.

I know they happened. I would just like to know the actual thought process behind it.

I don't know if they'll show RvR anytime soon, but does anyone ever saw any gameplay beyond level let's say 10 ? This game feels like plagued with theTortage Diseasefrom Age of Conan, wherenooblandwas polished and then after level 20 it's alpha build everywhere.

You are correct. They are six years deep and are developing 30+ level content. This is why Matt Firor is horrible. And why Paul Sage is their resident spin doctor.

I thought they started over three times since then? What is it now? If they threw away the whole design except art assets, they havent been at this iteration for 6 years. So either blame them for starting over with each new fad in the genre or for taking 6 years for what they have now, but not both in the same sentence.

(Feel free to blame them for each of those seperately though!)

If Matt Firor is horrible, who are you comparing him to in order to quantify that statement? There are tons of reason why development could be delayed and they are not always bad.

So - any other questions/concerns for the devs? I've got a few of my own I'm going to throw in with the ones you guys posted:

  • I'm curious how they intend to make each Alliance War campaign feel persistent. One of the things about DAOC that kept me coming back was the rivalry between my guild and some of the opposing realm players and guilds. Will campaigns last forever, or will they change from time to time, and the enemies will rotate? That's something that would bother me.
  • Do they intend for skills to "morph" many times to encourage differentiation between player builds?
  • It seems like Zenimax is listening to fan feedback, and has at least attempted to implement a 1st person perspective. While I don't really care about 1st person POV, as I always play in 3rd person, I DO care about housing. Is there a design in the works for future implementation of housing?
  • I like the idea of being able to train/feed your horse to differentiate it's talents. Are there any plans in the works for high end items that can gain xp/level? Like DAOC Artifacts or LOTRO legendary weapons?
  • It was recently revealed in an interview that Vampires and Werewolves were mutually exclusive - any other skill lines/guilds that will exclude each other?
  • It's been stated in interviews that a Justice System was in the works for release with The Dark Brotherhood and Thieve's Guild in a future update. Will the Justice System include any sort of player bounties?
  • Will books and chests have random locations or are they always in the same spot?

Well, I might think of a few more to throw in, but I'm going to start compiling either late tonight or early tomorrow. If you have anything to add, just throw it in here, or PM me.

Yes because delays for six years is the norm now right? It's called poor management and a huge waste of cash. Combined with "we don't know what the fuck to do, so lets try to pitch it as skyrim and sell boxes!"

Should I also tell you why Rich Vogel is horrible? Didn't stop the parent company from hiring him either for fallout online.

What? I said they are six years deep and just now developing 30+ content. The stop starts should have easily been assumed at that point. And yes you are right. They are making a game to cater to whats successful. Not making a game they feel will be fun.

A 6 year development period does seem odd, of course that is completely dependent on how correct that nugget of info is. There may e complexities you are overlooking. You seem to be shooting from the hip routinely in your posts.

Haha, some guys got invited in beta, figured some stuff, started some reverse engineering and they now have a full private Elder Scrolls Online server running, with Khajit (actually not in Beta) among some other things. Google it.
