Walmart here doesn't have the cups but they do have that brand of ramen which is way better than the typical stuff.
a while back i did a test,
like you said these cheap .12c can be had at walmart for 2bucks for 12
i figured, if you use 2 cups of water and bring to boil, dump the ramen in, use half the spice packet(it's really too much sodium), cover and turn on low for 6mins, and finish off with a dash of seseme oil, it'll be decent enough.
actually what you could do (if times are tough) (and you want good tasting, maybe healthy food)
get a pan and fry some eggs, once their done to your liking, dump em in a bowl and then boil 2 cups of water and throw in a few broccoli crowns, (1.75/lb, atm), maybe some carrots (.99/lb for none packaged big carrots), let it come to a boil, wait 4mins, dump the ramen in (forego the packet), cover for 6mins then serve (also with a tinge of seseme oil).
what you'll get is the fried crustyness from the eggs mixed w/ a bit of broccoli soup. (try to stay away from teflon if you can, the fry on that kind of pan is pathetic)
