I just found out there is a Five Guys less than five minutes from my new house...

My weekend's fate is sealed.
This is why I love my house. It is in the suburbs so I know the city dwellers will be all like "lol bro I have so much more!" but within a 5-10 minute drive I have:

5 Guys
Piada
BW3
Chipotle
Panera
Wendy's
Crappy (aka delicious) chinese
Cheesesteaks
Papa Murphy's
Pad Thai place
Subway
Jimmy John's
Like 20 pizza places
Potbelly
Gyro Shoppe

And probably a ton more I haven't even been. This isn't even counting all the sit down places. Only thing I lack is a good BBQ place.

Make sure you either go on Saturday, or check to make sure they are open on Sundays. I could be misremembering since I've only been to Five Guys twice, but I seem to remember thinking I'd have been pissed if I drove all the way down there to find out it was closed.

EDIT: It is possible it was Easter, now that I think back on it. So perhaps they are normally open on Sundays. Still, check first!

Yeah same here. We are actually within minutes of the highway, but our house is nestled off into the woods so we don't hear any noise or see the highway so it's great. The one route going through the center of the city is filled with glorious fast food and pizza places. I had to drive through there to a gamestop that was within 8 minutes of my house and noticed the five guys. Immediately I heard my wife go "..oh no", as if I was a child that had just seen the Disney Store at the mall.

I can't imagine a fast food place not being open on a Sunday.. so much lost profits.

I've said that several times before. There's about an 80% chance that if I want Chick-fil-A, it's probably a Sunday. Drives me fucking crazy.

The most recent one being a 4 hour drive to San Diego and I had seriously been pumping myself up the entire drive to get some. About 3 hours into the drive I realized that it was Sunday and I just got pissed.

What's a pad Thai place? Do they not serve any other Thai food? Just pad Thai?

Potbelly is delicious. One of the best chain fast food joints around.

The hot peppers at Potbelly are so amazing. I could eat just a sandwich of nothing but them.

I call it "Pad Thai place" because it is Giant Eagle's Market District which is sort of like Whole Foods. They have a sushi bar/pizza bar/subs/yellow curry chicken soup/pad thai/Mongolian Wok. But I only ever get the pad thai. Figured that was easier than trying to explain GE Market District in the post.

Defense mechanism super-taster.

I had to go look up Potbelly, and low and behold there are two here in STL. Currently making plans to go there.

My co worker loves Potbelly and I really only go with him. It is good but I'm never really going out of my way to get it. The peppers, though, are pretty boss.

Potbelly is a thousand times better than Subway and Jimmy Johns and Quizno's even, but most of those are gone anyways.

Had a Quesarito today. It was gross. Why are Taco Bell's tortillas so rubbery? No other Mexican place I have ever been to has such chewy tortillas.

Does Raising Cane's have the best chicken fingers on the planet?
Yes, yes they do.

Also service there is very good for a fast food restaurant. From what it looks like they try to really make it a team atmosphere back there and give something for their young employees to buy into. One of two fast food restaurants I'd still go to if I wasn't avoiding delicious fried foods.

And you can and should dip everything into that sauce. Actually if I had a complaint about Cane's, it would about the sauce. It used to come in a container about twice the size they do now AND they didn't charge for extra sauce. Now of course they charge for extra sauce, which I can understand that, but at the same time they cut the size of the sauce container in half.

Chipotle has been advertising their catering service for 20 - 200 people on the radio lately. I'm so, so tempted to order myself catering for 20 people. I'm really curious how much food they give.
