Whataburger burgers and Sonic burgers are almost identical. I like them both so that's fine with me, but there is almost no difference between them. I've you've had Sonic than you've had Whataburger(and vice versa)

Overall I prefer Sonic though because tator tots are the ultimate fried potato form, better than any possible variety of fry.
McDonald's hash browns are the best form of fried potato because it's like a giant tater tot.
Tater tots are the grossest form of potato that exists on this Earth. Chalk it up to bad child hood tater tot experiences, but wtf. Tater tots are gross. You all crazy.

You shut your whore mouth. 24/7 availability makes Jack in the Box a staple.
You son of a bitch, YOU LIE
Would have to agree. Jack in the Box is fucking good. Sourdough Jack with a few tacos? Oh hell ya.

I never got over the Jack in the Box E.Coli scare of 1993 or whatever year it was. They all closed down here and have never returned.

Yeah, thats all anyone thinks about when they hear jack in the box. It makes you wonder, why the fuck haven't they just changed their name by now?

Who knows.. all I know is as an 8 year-old kid, being told by my parents that I would die if I ate there was enough to scar me for life.

I know they're your parents, but you should know by now that your parents are kind of fucked up.

I've never had Whataburger, but after what everyone else just posted here, I can't see this being right. Sonic burgers taste like high school cafeteria burgers. Whataburger sounds awesome. And I know it's one of those places people always compare to In-N-Out - which fucking rocks. I never find myself in the south though, so I'm not sure when I'll get the opportunity to try it out.
I don't want to start an In-N-Out debate, but In-N-Out is totally overrated. Everyone talks it up like it's this amazing place, but really it's just a fast food burger place. On a burger scale, it's ok to good.

That said, McCheese's point above that fast food is supposed to be fresh is kind of where In-N-Outdoesstand out. For McDonald's type prices, you get fresh ingredients and a burger that'd probably cost $7-8 elsewhere. That's kind of a win to me. And this is why the Five Guys debate is ridiculous to me. Five Guys is a $10-15 per person fast food experience, whereas In-N-Out is about half of that. Five Guys makes much tastier food in my opinion, but In-N-Out is better just because it's so much cheaper.

You're one of the few non-native Californians that I've heard say In-N-Out rocks. Almost everyone I know (myself included) that is a transplant is disappointed by it. You hear all these people across the country sucking In-N-Out's dick, and when you finally eat it...you have a hard time understanding what the hype was about.

In 'N' Out grows on you. When I first moved to California I didn't get it, but by the time I left I was going out at 2 in the morning after EQ raids for a double double. When I flew into Sacramento for a wedding a few years ago the first thing I did was tell my GPS to take me to In 'n' Out.

So exactly like he said?

That said, this thread(and the original) are solely responsible for me wanting to really try both In-n-Out and Whataburger. So the propaganda is working.

If I didn't live in vegas I would go to in-n-out more often. Fuckers are jam-packed with customers 24/7 out here, no lie.

In 'N' Out has really good burgers, but their fries are complete dog shit. Their burgers aren't good enough to make up for shit fries so I never go there. Double Double Animal Style is delicious and worth having at least once.

Yeah, In-N-Out fries are disappointing. They're much better if you ask for them well done. But the burgers are really good. And, as Elurin said, really cheap. Double double with grilled onions and chopped chiles. So damn good. I don't get it often (I think the In-N-Out in SF is the worst In-N-Out there is), but it's a staple stop on the trip to LA.

Well done fries there is the only way to get them! Also well done on the bun. Mustard grilled, which adds pickles as well. No tomatoes, because while I love tomatoes, it makes the burger too wet. Grilled onions of course, and I've never thought of the peppers, but that sounds damn good.
