The last time the US McDonalds had an operational margin that low was 2003 and the food was cheap as dirt. Fast food is a giant scam here lol.

Yea, a big part of why companies charge so damn much for fast food is all the retards out there are willing to pay it. They definitely could make food cheaper, but why bother? This is a big reason a sit down mom and pop can often be cheaper than some fast food slop.

Culture in asia is a lot different. People on average are way more frugal, so if stuff gets too expensive the people will eat other places, so McDs has suck it up and operate slim.

People must still be eating it though. I drove through a coffee shop and got the second largest size of mocha (usually drink black coffee) and a piece of lemon poppy seed bread and it was $13.25 which I rounded up to $15 for a tip. Who the fuck does this? How is this place staying in business? Where do they get the balls to take a $2 cup of coffee, pour a cup of milk into it, throw in a spoonful of cocoa powder, squirt some whipped cream on top, and charge $8.75 for it?

You complain too expensive, but the business reads this as too cheap.

That's the other thing I like about asia. 0 fucking tipping. You even try to tip in japan and they will take it like you pissed on their honor as they chase you with your white tray of money.

I gave them the tip because it was the last money they will ever get from me.

Popeyes BBQ sauce is fucking amazing. I love their chicken tenders too. The regular chicken is just ok. I'm pretty disappointed their spicy chicken sandwich is spicy because of the mayo and not the breading. That is pretty wtf to me.

Most people have no concept of what poor is if they've never traveled the sphere of the indian ocean. There's a reason the word for a meal in a lot of those countries is the same word for rice.

A friend of my Mom owns 3 drive thru only coffee stands on the rural Oregon Coast. Nobody has money there really and this lady straight prints money. Only employs high school students/teenagers and has one salaried manager for all her locations who has worked for her for like 10 years. She pays the general manager like $100k a year so she stays loyal. The students get paid shit and the overwhelming majority of customers come there not once but twice or even three times daily.

The owner is a grandma who got into the business in her 50s when her husband died and she didn't know what to do with the money he had. Not sure who convinced her to buy into this but she's pushing 70 now and is pulling north of $250k a year for her personal income doing absolutely nothing. Spends most of her time helping the church they both go to and whatever else.

I have plans to get them this weekend, as well as the new fries flavour and the new tea flavoured pie.

If that dudes hands were shaking anymore he'd drop the burger, what is up with that?
Not sure with the hand thing, never noticed it before. I used to watch him from time to time a few years ago and he popped up again in my feed. He's been doing reviews like that for awhile and is a teacher in Japan.

Expected, but still disappointing. Guess I can continue my 12 year streak of not patronizing Taco Bell.

I was shocked, I kinda liked them, not cheap enough I'd go out of my way to get them. Didnt watch, not sure if his ended up dry, I would highly suspect much more variability in quality compared to the other food that is from a bin or squeeze tube. Got to have a fryer man who's on point and if it's rush hour yeah...

The problem is choice. Why would I go to Taco Bell for shitty chicken nuggets? This is why I haven't been to one in over a decade at this point.

As far as fast food, it's sadly still the best option currently I think, though I'm missing some options out here. But they are like a once every couple months thing, vs going to our sketchy 60 yerar old burger drive thru, or specifically for chicken, we have a amazing cafeteria style place Charlies Chicken, or failing that amish buffet Dutch Pantry. So yeah, it's basically only when wife wants nachos and just a lot of cheese bean slop.

Yea IDK though I would still go to Chipotle first. Or California Burrito. Or Moe's. Or Filiberto's. etc. etc.

To me Taco Bell is in the 'dirt cheap' category. Granted, I still like it better than something like Jack in the Box for Mexican. I still think I'd prefer Taco Bell over BKs or Wendy's though, from a 'truck stop choices' perspective. Definitely over Subway.

Rural. We have catrina's which is pretty awesome, what chipotle/qdoba wishes they could be. We don't have Del taco, or chip/Q here. Maybe theres a chip in Tulsa somewhere. I miss in CO big city burrito which sold back in like 2012 a $12 basically double old big chipotle burrito. Current chipotle I can eat the $9 or whatever it is now rito and easily be hungry still.
