I had the triple bacon burger as well and thought it was just alright, but I have never been a big fan of applebees either. The portions seem very small and their burgers are very flat to me, both in size and flavor.
I'm with you on this. They come up with half a dozen new burgers with fancy names every few months and most of them suck.
Really? That few near you? That seems weird considering they started in the Baltimore area (or somewhere else close to Baltimore) that they'd not have a bunch in NoVa.
Weird, North of Baltimore they were pretty damn common and not in bad places - and heard there was a ton downtown. But yea, remembering back to the thing with their founder - he did focus on starting up in spots with low rent to keep overhead down for all the non-franchise locations. So many are probably in bad neighborhoods where rents will be lower.
When I was a security guard in college a Rally's opened down the street from the large company that I was guarding. They brought in like 250 coupons for a free burger/fries/coke meal and asked us to put them out on the counter for the employees but naturally we just kept them all ourselves. I bet I personally ate at least 30 free meals from that place over the next few months. I worked 12 hours shifts on Saturday and Sunday and averaged 3 rally burgers per shift. Once I made a run mid shift and got 5 combos for me and the other guards working that day and spilled all 5 cokes on the floor of my car. I'm surprised that they didn't come down and bitch about it but I imagine that it was some marketing guy that brought the coupons in and just random teenagers actually taking them at the store. The drive-thru people knew us all by the end but never refused to take the coupons.
Do all of them do that? I can't find anything on the site about it. Will determine whether I go there tonight or not!
