Perhaps, however the end result is undeniably fast/junk food. It's hard to find something less healthy and more filling than Poutine.. The problem is while cheese curds are general supermarket fare in Quebec, you need to search a bit harder in the states.. In Dallas that means Whole Foods/ Central Market, however there may be less elitist places to find cheese curds in the rest of the States, idk..

No way in hell poutine will be as good without cheese curd. Wouldn't ever eat it without the curd. Not being fancy or snooty, it's just an essential part of the food. It's fast food in parts of the world, just cheese curd is moderately hard to get in many places.

McDonald's pancakes are suprisingly decent. I didn't even know that they had them until I dated a girl that was in love with them. She didn't put syrup or anything on them, just picked them up at the drive thru and rolled them up and ate them dry. They are fairly sweet even without syrup on them.

My local store has cheese curds but they have so much fucking garlic in them that they are pretty much inedible. I don't know why you would want to do that to delicious cheese curds. My grandmother used to make awesome cheese curds but I think you have to have access to raw milk to make them (we had a milk cow at the time).

My parents are from Wisconsin, and every year when we used to visit relatives they would stop and get cheese curds. I just don't get the attraction over regular cheese. The squeaky texture in particular really bugs me. Give me a tray full of cheese cubes any day over those.

Not to be the pancake snob, but McD literally takes them from frozen and slaps them in a microwave and dumps them in a cardboard box.
That said, they are still pretty damn tasty and I wish I could just buy a bunch of the frozen ones myself.

In other news, I just had my first quesarito and it was delightful! I only ordered one because I thought it would be bigger than it was. I left hungry, but I enjoyed it. Next time I'll get multiple.
