I can put away a ton of food, but I'm not a speed eater. I'd happily take on one of those huge plate challenges, like eating an enormous steak with all the fixin's, but I'd be terrible at an actual eating competition where they shove cold hot dogs down their gullets.

My friends and I used to do a pasta bowl eating competition at Olive Garden. The most I ever managed to eat was the initial bowl and 9 refill bowls (smaller in size than the initial) with a sausage on each one, plus a plate of 9 meatballs.

There is a breakfast place in Billings, MT that has pancakes that are like 14" in diameter and half an inch thick. If you can eat 4 of them, they will give you a free 8" diameter cinnamon roll, because obviously after eating 4 gigantic pancakes what you really want is some more carbs.

*I once ate 12 tacos at taco bell, 1 pack of hotsauce per taco. They gave me a free set of 10 tacos as a result(this was back in highschool)
A dozen taco bell tacos is child's play, my friend. Especially in high school!

Idk half of them were soft shell (which are incredibly hard to eat in bulk) factor that in with the fact that I was and still am a 6' 140lb skinny fuck and I think it warrants free tacos.

The one thing I miss from McDonalds in the 80's is the McDLT. They came close with the Big & Tasty which was $1 (which I think is also discontinued?)

only difference between a BNT and quarter pounder is the BNT used mayo/tomatoes/leaf lettuce and "special cheese" (in addition to all the other stuff, it was a messy burger to make), at least thats what they tell a teen, ha.

if that helps with flavor profile.

I can respect this*. A man of pleasure.

Think you could pack away some of the spicy challenges (hotwings etc)? That stuff seems dangerous.

I can handle really spicy food, but it just loses any enjoyment when you get into the insanely hot stuff like ghost pepper infused sauces and whatnot. I enjoy eating, and I like to enjoy eating. I don't like sweating buckets into my basket of ghost pepper chicken fingers.

I like spicy challenges only if I have an audience, never for pleasure. I've done ghost chili wings and it was terrible.

I actually called it the Big and Nasty, but I still liked them.

Vitality, that is a weenie accomplishment. I'm sorry, man.

And Nood: No way I'd eat ghost chili anything. Fuck that.

My brother in law tried one of those spicy wing challenge places in San Jose that was on Man vs. Food. He likes ultra spicy, but he said the sauce had a rancid, nasty flavor. Sauce looked like something you would scrape out of a car's axle.

And bleh Olive Garden. If you're gonna eat franchise Italian, at least go to a Carrabas or whatever. I still remember when I went to an Olive Garden as a kid and the server's explanation of tiramisu is that it is a "square" lol ;P

Olive Garden is fucking awful. We have exactly one in Rhode Island. I can't believe we haven't burned it down. I don't see how it stays in business. If there's one thing Rhode Island has, its bars and Italian restaurants. Okay, that's technically two things, but you can't throw a rock without hitting one or the other.

Olive Garden isn't as bad as people say, it's just a cool thing to shit on them for whatever reason. Their food is generic, Americanized Italian food but it's not like it tastes bad.

Olive Garden is just the Red Lobster of Italian food. It's perfectly serviceable for what it is. Is a local Italian restaurant going to be better? Sure, but if you live in the middle of a town that doesn't have much of an Italian population, your choices might be limited and Olive Garden can fill that void decently. Just like Red Lobster, I'd never go near one if I lived on the coast and had access to fresh seafood, but here in the middle of the country every seafood restaurant is getting their stuff flown in frozen, so what's the difference?

pasta is pasta. Unless you're eating at a super fancy place, it's all the same exact boxed pasta and pre-made, frozen stuffed pastas that Olive Garden uses at 99% of mom and pop places.

Olive Garden is the worst! Taco Bell makes you poop INSTANTLY AND FOREVER! Dominoes is worse than eating the box!
I must be a complete pleb, since I have no problems with all three of those places.

Guess I am just not very picky or snooty when it comes to food.

Yes and no. Stuff like spaghetti noodles can be boxed. But any stuffed pasta like ravioli, etc are all pre-cooked and frozen then shipped to the Olive Garden restaurants. I think the Olive Garden / Red Lobster comparison is pretty good, though frozen seafood is far worse than frozen pasta. I'd take Olive Garden any day of the week over Red Lobster.
