There are some amazing fight scenes in there, a magnificent cast and superior cinematography, but it really feels like most of what could have made the story intelligible was left on the floor of the editing room. It's a bit of a mess. At times you are like 'I feel like I am supposed to understand something here, but I am surely missing the historical references' and then back home you do your best wikipedia-fu and realize even biographers of Ip Man must still be scratching their heads...
