Spinach casserole would be my #1 if it was there. Pumpkin Pie was my pie of choice until I lived in Texas for a few years, then Pecan Pie became king.

Some people do fry turkey, but I find it pretty terrible. We smoke ours, I usually get up at like 4AM to drop it in the smoker. Prep is brine for a day and then I do butter and spice injections to plump it a bit.

stuffing because everything else on the list is something eaten outside of thanksgiving dinner. Stuffing is the one thing on the list where if you sit down to Thanksgiving dinner and its not there, its Wrong.

Turkey beats ham but thats so obvious it barely seems to deserve a poll. There are good uses for ham but a big ass roasted leg of ham as a main dish is not one of them, for any meal, let alone Thanksgiving.

I beg to differ. It also qualifies as an exclusively Thanksgiving dish because I don't think I have ever eaten it except on Thanksgiving.

Also, if it doesn't look like the can it came out of, it isn't the good stuff.

Real cranberry sauce is OK. Canned shit, which is 99.9% of what you get, is not great.

My family insists we have all 3 kinds: canned chunky, canned smooth, and homemade.

While we're on cranberry sauce. I once cooked Thanksgiving Dinner for a bunch of Australians. Listening to the way they pronounce cranberry sauce never got old. That has to be the silliest accent on the planet
