CLR/DRU/ENC is probably still the best buffbot, even though Enc buffs aren't nearly as important with the server buffs for mana regen and haste. Damage shield is great for leveling from 1 to 15 very quickly, by running through Crushbone w/o stopping, twice (non-respawning, then respawning), but it's not that valuable for bosses, where a buffbot makes the most difference. The Enc epic may still give the best spell haste to level 65 spells, but Clr has a 10% spell haste buff in PoP too.

If you are going to level one up, make sure to plan to use at least 1 free class change, so you can start with an easier to level class combo (CLR/DRU/ENC sucks to level solo). They recharge the free class change every xpac (so far), so you could change a second class when PoP is over. I haven't played since the AFK changes, but if you can use a macro program to get around it (Logitech & Razor both have one included), using a mage pet to AFK level would still be the easiest.

Edit: Also, you can stack the HP of Heroism with Aegolism/Virtue by casting in order Symbol of Marzin > Hero > Aego/Virtue. Then cast the druid buffs, otherwise it will use the lower AC from the druid buff, instead of the Cleric buff, even though the HP of Dru & Clr will stack, regardless of order.

Yeah it sounds like the afk stuff is just flagging for less server packet updates to reduce server load, or something like that. It doesn’t seem to boot you when afk so pet classes still have a nice overnight xp train

I finally accomplished my goal of beating AoW and Sleeper before moving on to the SOL crap. I barely beat the Sleeper, but I think I can improve my dps so the adds aren't an issue. I honestly do not know how I got myself to farm almost 1200 AA's.

I do wonder when the WoW private version of this server comes out. You just know someone is working on one now.

I'd try that, or any decent live MMO that takes this solo/multiclass approach with grouping optional but fun. Finding groups was great when I was young and free, but now I want to be able to hop on and work on goals on my time but in a shared, persistent environment. It's why I play PoE a lot too. It's part of what I loved about DDO and AO years ago, where good players with the right build and gear could solo dungeons and raids (in DDO) and tough named mobs (in AO) although that was too limited for what builds were capable of it.

interesting thought. wonder how they'd do it, because the AA system is what allows us to tackle this kind of content. bring in alternate power from future expansions or something? or come up with their own. but i'd definitely play that too

Part of the reason multiclass works so well with EQ is the low amount of abilities EQ classes get. WoW classes already had a full bar+ of abilities in Vanilla, so I wouldn't think having 3 classes of abilities would work as well in that game.

There was sort of a multiclass WoW emu, you had all the energy bars (rage, energy, mana) and you could pick a limited number of skills from any class, I think you had more than the standard talent points you could use in any of the class trees. This was a few years ago and it was limited to classic content. It wasn't solo oriented but it was a cool way to get the multiclassing part done.

Where do the Seru bane augs come/drop from?
