They shot their load early by casting Mads Mikkelsen in Rogue One. He would have been an amazing Thrawn.

They could maybe cast his brother Lars. He's a bit more aquiline but there again so is Thrawn.

I wonder if nowadays they could just CGI a character blue. At the least you wouldn't need to be painted blue, you'd have to wear a mocap outfit. Although I assume the Ahsoka outfit is practical makeup, not CGI.

I finished Rebels this week, the last season is definitely the best and imo way better than any high of Clone Wars. Its a great, great setup for future Star Wars spin off shows and I really appreciate Filoni's talents a lot more now. If you liked Mandalorian though, do yourself a favor and watch Clone Wars and Rebels (D+ or 🏴‍☠️ yarr), really great stuff.
