When I did my initial investigation of the Japanese rock scene I soon realized I'd gone into it with self-imposed preconceptions that didn't exist in reality: I'd expected K-pop clones and found everything from rockabilly to hardcore to epic to technical death to doom. I have no idea where my stereotypes came from. Certainly I've known about Loudness for a very long time. I bought the LP when it was released; I knew the manager of the local Sam the Record Man, and he played the album for me in the store because he knew I was into hair metal at the time. I had hundreds of Glam albums, from Autograph to Zebra. But that's another story.
Like most of my Youtube forays, I got sucked into the vortex and didn't emerge for many hours. It's been fun and informative.
