Cast looks promising, but while actors have been announced their roles haven't. Here's my guess knowing Nolan has weight to throw around.
  • Matt Damon = Odysseus
  • Anne Hathaway = Penelope (wife)
  • Tom Holland = Telemachus (son)
  • Zendaya = Calypso
  • Charlize Theron = Athena
  • Lupita Nyong'o = Circe
  • Robert Pattinson = Eurymachus (throne stealer)

I mean noone really knows. The only "rumor" out there is Zendaya's role is going to be small since she will be filming Dune 3 in August, so until they release who is playing what its mostly guessing outside Damon and Holland. Also I bet this will end up with another mega cast like Oppenheimer so you will have multiple A list actors signing on till shooting starts, so its almost pointless to speculate this early.

As a Greek , i dont think blacks should be Greeks… but also - Greeks had lots of diversity in color and hair- you had an island of blond blue eyes- you had darker than zendya or whatever people with black hair…

But the facial features etc, all Euro no black.

We will see, hope its good- I actually liked Troy - and our boy Sean Bean was a great Odysseus - and he even lived!

Greek gods are not greeks though, they are gods. And one of the key feature of greek mythology is metamorphosis. That gives a lot of leeway when comes time to cast the sorceress daughter of a god and nymph.

I mean... Zeus would turn into animals and fuck people. When folks started dreaming up "Gods", it's amazing how degenerate their idea of wielding God-like powers manifested.

There are, however tons of Greek art and statues etc… and they are the originators of the “gods” so they are what they made them…and the olympians are not black. None of the gods are even the odd looking ones.

99.9% percent of jesus statues/crucifixes/depictions in western Europe / North America for the past 2000 years race-swapped him to be a white guy. Don't think a black girl or japanse guy playing a greek god in a random movie in 2026 is gonna move the needle, tbh.

Why wouldn't he be a white guy? Rome/Greece/Persia were the dominant powers in that region during Jesus time. They were all white Empires. He was illegitimate, probably the rape baby of a Roman Centurion.

Arabs didn't conquer the area until the 1600s and the sub saharan blacks weren't mixed in until even later than that.

The sad thing about the region is the Palestinians are the descendants of the Greeks/Romans just like a lot of the European Jews that were let back in after Roma had exterminated them.

The Muslim Turks/Palestinians were the ones who let the Jews back in, see what that got them!

Rome killed off all the Jews they could catch after their third revolt around 130AD. You never heard of Masada?

They were dispersed from the land until the Eastern Roman empire began to crumble. The Ottoman Sultan, a muslim allowed them back into their ancient lands. The Ottomans didn't have as much religious persecution in their Empire as the rest of Europe did, so after Byzantium fell the Jews were finally allowed back in to resettle the Levant.

72 AD, not 130. And Masada had a roman force of maybe about 9000 men under roman command, most of them themselves jewish auxiliary, lay siege to under 1000 Jewish Sicarii with maybe 1000 casulties in total.


A pretty sizeable battle, but hardly "killing of jews" on a genocidal scale.

Masada was the first revolt. Things got a lot worse for them after the third revolt.
