There's a ghetto grocery store a few miles down the road and visiting it makes for great learning experiences.
Like real stores have sales, ghetto markets have EBT signs to let people know which food is free. While observing the Africans in their natural habitats, I also noticed an isle devoid of regular soft drinks like coke and Pepsi, but instead lined with drinks called orange and grape.
There was no beer or liquor in the ghetto shop, Save a Lot, and my excursion ended with a purchase of ripe Roma tomatoes.
I counted 4 customers in front of me and surprisingly, 2 of them paid for their food. The natives attire seemed to consist of multi colored bedazzled things among the youth females, white t shirts for the males, and proper church attire for the adults over 40.
There were no middle aged men identified in the store and I could only assume they were all killed in a fire fight at some point.
When greeting the tribe I would offer things such as 'hi' or 'how ya doing' among other generic greetings, but I somehow always got the same response of 'alright, alright'
I will report more after my next safari into the urban jungles.
