Geez, this one was intense. And that's saying a lot for this show.

With the amount of victims, if they go with lone shooter with anything other than a crew served weapon, that's a bit ridiculous. I suppose if it's someone trained, but even still, that'd be a lot of mag changes to do that much damage.

I know this is television, is sensationalized, and all that, but put yourself in the situation for a minute. You run an emergency room, dozens of people are shot or injured, and they all show up at once. Triage is ten seconds. You have blood on you from you don't know which patient. ER is an intense job.

Yea imagine how much stress it would be to do that while twerking on tik tok in full PPE.

It hits the spot for me for sure, every case and procedure, the high pace and burnout, it is what we do. As for the mass casulty event, triage at the door is just fantastic, the triage system scaling at it's core. We use black, red, yellow, green over here. It's chilling to see it's original form in action. I'm very grateful that it's so rare. Mostly accidents or blunt trauma. I can remember maybe 2-3 mass casulty shooter events in the last 15 years over here in my part of eurocuckistan. A system with sufficient primary care, psychiatric wards and universal healthcare as to not clog the ER is really key. And maybe the strict gun control laws contribute to it being a rare occurance. Different societies, I know.

Anyway, it's just a fantastic show. I hope it doesn't end with Robby losing his son to the incel shooter. That would be heartbreaking. It probably will, right? Brrrrr. How many episodes left?

Gave this a shot based on praise from the thread, glad I did. Can't remember the last time I've been invested in a medical show, probably before streaming.
I binged over 2 days and now have to wait like the rest. On the plus side, my body will appreciate the rest from being tense. Great Television.

Yeah the show is certainly pointing to that direction. I am with you in that it would be a gut punch to watch Noah Wyle act that one out. The show pulls at the strings. That might break the strings...

Gonna bet and say kid has nothing to do with it but his mom gets shot and he becomes an orphan.

I was referencing Jake and his girlfriend. Dr. Robby had been trying to constantly contact them, because both of them had gone to the event where the shooting took place. I think Jake is his Step Son. The show has been building up the possibility that something happened to them. We of course do not get to know until this Thursday. If something did happen, it will be hard to watch, given how good Noah Wyler has been with this character.

you even see at one point (early) robby gave head nurse his phone for her to keep on trying to call jake

also, if anyone remembers er, head nurse was a rich wife that luka bangs in the closet, and i think there was a story line where the husband tried to get luka to stop seeing his wife, er's first cucking

They said it in some episode, Jake is Dr. Robby's former stepson, but in the grand scheme of things former is irrelevant they clearly still have a father son relationship. There are 3 more episodes of this, so this mass shooting will probably be the focus for the next two.

I expect them to pay off the plot element of SWAT being there due to threats made, would be easy drama to have the shooter take out a doctor or nurse but be shot in the process and survive and have to be saved by Dr Robby.

If they can stick the landing on the season finale this show is going to clean house at the awards. It’s so damn good.

The way this show is going Dr. Robby could be the one shot and killed. I kind of doubt that would happen but that is what makes this show so great. Honestly anybody could die. It has that Game of Thrones quality to it.

Yeah the drug addict is kind of a question mark. Yes he came in when needed but they will still have to deal with that issue. Of course one way to end the issue would be to kill him........

i think sleevedraw sleevedraw can answer but if youre fired that means you have no doctor insurance and the hospital doesn't cover you, so like youre illegally practicing medicine?

Was he fired though? He sent him home but I would think there would be a full investigation?

You can carry your own malpractice insurance. The only way you'd be illegally practicing medicine would be if your license was revoked.

Possibly? also if you were doing something outside of the scope of your specialty (like a psychiatrist trying to perform heart surgery), but I'm not 100% sure on the latter point. It's usually considered out of scope for a nurse to assist with surgeries, but they can if they pick up an additional certification called RNFA. I think doctors have more leeway.

I think you are onto something here. I’m also expecting a revisit to the roof, just unsure how the dynamic will play out this time with Abbot, Robby and/or shooter.
