I thought that was million ways to die in the west. Though, lets be honest here, the indians will probably get butthurt over this one too. They pretty much get butthurt over stuff and run casinos these days.Is this the movie Indians got butt hurt over?
3;10 to yuma was great. Also JJ the coward was good. Deadwood was the best show in a generation. Open range, True Grit, all great. Django is the most overrated clap fest besides Waltz wrecking shit.Aside from the fact that Django is the only remotely Western film to do well in the last two decades
You must not have enjoyed Blazing Saddles then.Being offensive on purpose does not mean it's good comedy. Bad comedy is just sad, it insults everyone.
........................Blazing Saddles is tastefully offensive.
its too offensive for today's society only because today's society is constantly butthurt over every little thing. people are calling for poor ridley scott's head because he cast some white guys as egyptians. blazing saddles isnt really offensive as its a comedy and no malicious intent was made. adam sandler thinks he is mel brooks when he mocks gays and minorities, but he comes across as just mean instead of funny. They couldn't even make a Blazing Saddles type movie in todays society, that's how offensive it was. If you think otherwise you really need to rewatch it with a different perspective that racisim is satire.
I love me some Blazing Saddles but I'm not blind to the fact that that shit would never get made today. It's along the same lines hon how we will never have anything on the same level as "Married with Children" ever again.
Dude, I love Blazing Saddles but you're full of it. I agree the PC movement is out of control, but you can't get pissy over Adam Sandler doing the same shit. Like IO said, half of Blazzing Saddles would have never made it past editing in todays society. Whatever excuse you want to use, it doesn't stop it from being true.its too offensive for today's society only because today's society is constantly butthurt over every little thing. people are calling for poor ridley scott's head because he cast some white guys as egyptians.blazing saddles isnt really offensive as its a comedy and no malicious intent was made.adam sandler thinks he is mel brooks when he mocks gays and minorities, but he comes across as just mean instead of funny.
no, its you looking at it the wrong way, look at django unchained, more n-bombs dropped in that movie than blazing saddles. movies with offensive language can still be made, but since nobody has a sense of fucking humor anymore (including adam sandler) nobody can laugh at stereotypes without feeling guilty and then reacting to it as "racism! " django only gets away with it because only the "bad guys" say it, even though its a period movie and in reality N-bombs were said by not just bad people. its why people get butthurt over positive characters such as "American Inventor Jim" appearing in Tom Sawyer because you cant call the guy the N word if you arent some kind of terrible person, but back then it was commonplace.Dude, I love Blazing Saddles but you're full of it. Two of the most respected American comedians, Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfeld, have discussed the unique problems that comics face on college campuses. In November, Rock told Frank Rich in an interview for New York magazine that he no longer plays colleges, because they're "too conservative." He didn't necessarily mean that the students were Republican; he meant that they were far too eager "not to offend anybody." In college gigs, he said, "you can't even be offensive on your way to being inoffensive." Then, in June, Seinfeld reopened the debate-and set off a frenzied round of op-eds-when he said in a radio interview that comics warn him not to "go near colleges-they're so PC."
