Weird, I thought I replied to this post, but I don't see it.

Krip - I think you stil have a bit to go. You know you can skip all that, and then view all the cutscenes later.

One thing they overlooked in Disgaea 5, which I wish they had not, was watching the animations again on the fights. Some of them are HILARIOUS. The pure over the top is just hilarious and cracks me up. But I wish I could watch them again as the game would be far far too long to turn them on always.

1) For research, does gear or lvl impact mission success?

2) There isn't away to get unique characters to learn other unique abilities (not evilities but their actuall class specific abilities) from other characters right? Scrolls in char world seemed to only work on weapon and magic abilities not unique

3) Does magic change eventually get stronger? Its nice for getting exp/mana for weaker monsters BUT the stats its adding atm are extremely small compared to my main guy primary stats. I have a lvl 300 zetta and using the sword magic change with the twin dragon overlord its giving me like a few hundred attack is all when he is lvl 200+ himself. The only main benefit I see is using their unique evil which is awesome and why im using the dragon guy....twin dragon gives double attack basically if you don't move so its nasty! But I was hoping stats would actually be meaningful...

4) Double magichange....any use for this in all reality? Giving up 2 people on the map seems abit crazy but then again I guess if you double magi-changed 2 units with real strong offensive evils it might not be bad.
1. I think level only matters. Not 100% sure but I only use level and not paying attention to equipment atm and they are okay.

2. I don't think so. I knwo there are some unique/special things you can get passing bills, but if i recall those are only some overloads.

3. I never use magichange but I would imagine so. (see #4)

4. Apparently to do the last trial efficiently in land of carnage, you need to magichange a lot, like 4 at once.

Tales of Zestria comes out in like 8 days on Steam, and they hit 100% on the preorder bonuses, so if you preorder it, you get free Tales of Symphonia when that game releases on Steam.

Dunno if anyone cares but thought I'd throw it out there.

Saw that today too. Was considering PS4 (since it releases earlier there), but it is cheaper on the PC + Symphonia + reports of FPS problems (PS3 version though, not PS4), I ended up pre-ordering the PC version.

Debating if I pick up the game or wait a little while. I'm still currently playing through FFX HD and then want to do FFX-2 but Tales of Vesperia on Xbox was one of my favorite RPGs in quite a long time so it makes me want to buy Zestria asap. I mean, I have already beat both 10 and 10-2 before (although I swear it was when they were first released) so a lot of the scenes feel new again but I think if I start another RPG I'll never go back or when I finally do I'll forget everything lol.

Heh, I got 4 hours into FFX and then moved on to X-2. For all the criticism it got, the plot isn't any worse than X and the combat system is so much better.

Once I was a noob but now I have began to climb out of the pit!

So I came up with a strat to start doing fairly early post game in D5 building upon the suggestion to do the C77 challenge stage with all the people at one health.

So start out as earlier suggested capturing and interigating then on your witch and convert them for some insane stat boosts via interigation. But after you get some stats to add to a character I strongly suggest the following combo, it yields fucking insane things on all ends.

1) Get a dark knight, their unique evil means you just need to hit the geo and it will chain across over a 3rd of the map. This will make the rest of them in revenge mode yielding insane stat boosts this early on in mass when you kill the rest. Put your dark knight away (or he may die) to the ones that move in his place, that's ok he still got a lot of exp and set up revenge.

2) Bonus meter should be above one so you can summon your netherworld and remove the -20% accuracy (important for next part)

3) Have a Sage with the land mine or whatever its called that hits everyone, boom! You will miss a few but for the most part you just wiped a map.

4) Have microphone on your sage, not only will you capture revenge shards, you will also capture 20+ of them to still interrogate

5) To expand to other low lvls, give them the overload that you can get from isuna (?) that is a big cosmo's that will hit everyone. Go to assembly and get the critical one that gives revenge after a hit; take your person and defend first round with the difficulty bumped up so you just manage to live from the first shots in defend. Then pop your overload and blow the place up. You don't get the revenge which is actually really huge stat gains but if you are trying to get some lvls on other people this works.

Step 1-4 doesn't require going to the shop so its much faster and you get abit fewer interrogations then with the witch so you can spam them really fast.

Its almost better even at lvl 3000 sadly....I'm abit stuck I can't find any quest to push me to LOC but I've killed void dark and had him joined me so I'm not sure what I have to do. Baal is still omg rape so I need to grind but doing trials 4/5 on 20 star difficulty doesn't seem so rewarding or fast...going to take a break and run my exodus or arcadia through the item world since I've been neglecting gear up to this point.

So I think I was a noob in DA:I and I wasn't a reaver, just a 2h warrior. I picked up my spec quests.

Which specialization is best for max dps/survivability?

Champion with Walking Fortress, Flow of Battle, and Whirlwind. Fortress makes you immune to damage, Flow of Battle reduces the cooldown by 1 second every time you crit, and Whirlwind (along with proper crafted gear) gives you tons of opportunities to crit things which usually means you can use Fortress again before it expires. Even more so with the Trespasser DLC giving WW the ability to suck in enemies.

Templar isn't bad either, but Cassandra is one of the better NPCs imo, plus the AI is actually capable of doing the Wrath of Heaven+Spell Purge self-combo on its own. It's one of the few things the AI actually does do well, so making her redundant by playing the same thing yourself isn't a very good idea.

Reaver does a lot of damage but it's squishy as hell until you have the best guard-on-hit masterwork gear crafted. The only plus side to the spec to me is that Iron Bull is a terrible character and both Cassandra and Blackwall are cool.

Champion Inquisitor + Cass (2H) + Sera (Bow) + Solas (shields/combos) is what I'd do as a warrior. Cass could be replaced by Dorian as a fire damage focused necro.

Still obsessed with Disgaea 5.

Metallia is broken as fuck. As I mentioned, Omega nukes at 25, Tera nukes at 50, badass uniques, OP overload.

I'm sure there's better ways to farm prisoners, but the way I'm running item world atm: Place Metallia on the map -> Do nothing until Overload triggers -> Capture all but gatekeeper -> Repeat on next floor. Pick up fish/break spheres/kill innocents as needed. Espoir if poisoned obv.

I have no doubt that people have figured out a better way to farm prisoners, but this is pretty much auto item world grinding.

So I figured out my dumb ass had not killed the item god and that was preventing me from getting to the LOC quest. I'm on the final boss and decided to do abit of grinding....was so excited and then I decided to pull a 40 hr straight work day.......fuck me, so behind on grinding!!!!!

So right now I am just running my mage as a sage and clearing IW using a combo of twin dragon/land mine and another sage to give him double attack buff. It blows shit up, then my dark knight cleans up any innocents/kills that lived. Think the sage is lvl 8000 and I still was destroying most lvl 5500's with the combo and getting good exp since I am getting up to 700 stat innocents I think. It feels cheesy but such as life in Disgaea!

I do have my main team picked out and slowly expanding them. I just finished my first lvl 100 trapezoid which is like +30k stats to everything but its kind of chump change for my high levels. I do need to do a weapon or two I've picked up but I think later tonight i'll go do the LOC fight and see how hard that is. Also just equipment microphone on your sage and mass clear, you can do most stages in < 25 seconds.

I've said it a few times but if you were on the fence, buy this game. Fucking awesome, if you were an old Disgaea fan, buy this game....it is almost everything right about disgaea games (so far as I have seen in 60+ hours probably) and has most the wrong gone.

Pre-ordered Disgaea 5 now on the PS4. Activates in 6 hours.

Got Tales for PC as it is the obvious choice now with lower cost + free Tales of Symphonia.

That said, started an old RPG again now. Rogue Galaxy on a PS2 emulator. So many good RPGs on the PS2.

Namco needs to bring Vesperia to PC goddammit. Surely that bullshit deal they signed with MS doesn't apply to Windows as well as Playstation.

I looked at a walkthrough for DA:I just to see how far I am and I'm on the second to last chapter (on the IGN walkthrough) - and the last chapter looks like the last boss.

I'm only 18 hours in so either howlongtobeat is way off, is counting DLCs, or there are some anal people when it comes to beating the game. I realize I've barely scratched the surface of the game at this point, but I'm finding the story really awesome and engaging so I haven't been doingtoomuch on the side. I have done pretty much everything in Hinterlands, Wastes (whatever), the undead swamp area, and the storm coast though except kill dragons. I still haven't done my champion unlock yet. I'm not much of a sidequest type of guy unless it's really awesome, and don't feel like doing MMO quests throughout the game. Just wonder if I'm really that close to the end at 18h (just did the giant demon castle siege where you go to the fade and also the duchess thing)?

I had this problem with Dragon Age Origins. I beat it in like 12 hours and everyone told me I was an idiot and played it wrong. Something like it took them 40 hours, I didn't get it.
