Bummer D5 didn't click for you. Really, really hoping Dark Souls 2 turns into your new obsession, because if it does you'll sure as hell find it worth your while to grab the first one (get it for PC, ps3 version can be pretty rough and there's no PS4 remaster) and Bloodborne, giving you potentially hundreds of hours of gaming bliss. So Dark Souls 2 didn't show up yesterday in the mail from Gamefly, but it should be here today. So I had some time, and didn't really want to load up Destiny, so I loaded up the D5 demo. Was curious, after so many in this thread said it was so good, or really enjoyed it.
I thought the story was pretty amusing, and fun! I love how the penguin "prinnies" are like all stoners. Duuuddee! lol. My issue is that I find games where you have to move your whole team one by one, tedious, so I didn't enjoy that part of it. Oh well, was worth a shot!
Dragon Quest VIII is fantastic. It probably is the best of the series (though I never played V, VI, or VII). It's just a very well done game with lots of extras. It pays homage to the classic Dragon Quest games while still having a decent story.Dragon Quest VII and VIII have been confirmed to come to 3DS in NA and EU in 2016.
Dragon Quest VII I'm mildly excited for, but Dragon Quest VIII I am EXTREMELY excited for. It is supposedly the best Dragon Quest game of all time, and though it's available on Android right now, I would much rather play it on the 3DS.
Also Bravely Second next year. 2016 is gonna be great for JRPG fans with a 3DS.
Fantastic story, very fun to play, though marginal soundtrack, and absolutely horrendous implementation of turn-based random encounter RPGs where it takes 20-30 seconds to load a fight, pan the camera around until you can actually get to start issuing commands. Completely would have been solved with a no encounter ring, but noooooooooo can't have that. It's not so bad in the beginning but becomes awful with a full party. Is this the thread where I shill Lost Odyssey for story and soundtrack reasons? It's traditional turn-based, random encounter RPG style of gameplay (making combat a little slow), but I thought the overall aesthetics were fantastic.
WTF this big fatty 1 shotting me! Argle bargle! Lol... This shit is amazing. Already understand what doctor was saying that with skill you can do way more than normal.Oh you sweet summer child
I might restart that way. It's not very cool to have to use melee anyway because I ran out of spell casts.I always play sword and shield. Have never cast a single spell in the entire series
