I hate it when people refer to a video game as "important." How the hell is it important? It won't be culturally relevant in 5 years and it isn't going to solve the Middle East crisis.

In my opinion, it's important for the RPG genre. It's absolutely not gonna solve the crisis in the Middle East or make you adopt some sort of new life philosophy, but it is an excellent example of how every single element in the game serves to add to the game experience and comminicate the major themes of the game. I could probably write a book on my opinions of Undertale and how its mechanics and concepts are a near-perfect example of how game design in a traditional psuedo-JRPG should work.I hate it when people refer to a video game as "important." Running out of spells kinda get better later on I think, but it definitely sucks early on. I think it's when you can memorize more shit by raising hmm, that one stat. I'm glad they're going back to mana bar with DS3, the spell limit kinda sucked. Like you whiff your big spell, well too bad you only had one charge(or two) and it feels like shit, plus you can literally run out of stuff to cast so you have to resort to shit like using int scaling weapons and stuff which feels meh if you want to make a pure caster.I can see why melee has some advantages over Magic now that I've tried to get into Heide's Tower. Took a few deaths, but I figured out how to beat the sentinel dudes. Not terribly too tough, but I can't get very far, before I run out of magic shots, and then they all respawn if I go back to the bonfire to recharge. Starting the process all over again. I watched a guy use strafe to easily melee them all down, which is fine, and I don't mind doing, but my Sorcerer is slow on his feet it seems, not sure if there is a stat that effects that? Because I couldn't get out of their hit boxes, and would get hit nearly every time I was trying to strafe around.
Decided, after spending a couple hours trying to make it work, and losing a few souls in the process, that I'm going back to Forest of Fallen Giants, and gonna do my things there, and then come back to Heide's Tower later, when maybe I have some more stuff.

Only your equipped items count for weight. Specifically, equipped armor and weapons (I don't remember if rings have a weight in DS2).So I'm trying to get my weight down. When I'm in my player info/stats, it says I'm like 47%? I'm holding a lot of armor though that I'm not wearing. Is that a problem? Is there weight limits? I noticed at the Blacksmith, there isn't a sell option. So if I get something I'm not going to use, do I just drop it on the ground to keep my weight down?
Similar, but mobs have been moved / added. Some paths have been blocked by branches. It's somewhat a NG+ ish experience. They have changed enough that you will nearly constantly see small changes if you've played it before. How different is the base game? I heard they moved a lot of items around like branches and other stuff?
When should I enter Dlc areas? Right when I get to them? More importantly, will I know there's an entrance to Dlc or do you have to do weird stuff? Any preferred route in general?
Also, any weapons I should keep an eye out for? I'm a strength player and really like the 2h sword moveset. I saw a guy using a double blade thing that looked badass, but I feel it may be a Dex weapon?
I found Bloodborne's habits rubbed off on me as well when I started Scholar. I don't think I blocked even once during my Scholar playthrough - it just felt weird after Bloodborne. And the yoloing comment rings true as well, and I enjoyed it a lot more because of it... at least until I found out my hexer - with limited fucking charges - does like 80 damage per dark orb to mobs in the DLC.Wow weapon durability is a real pisser now. Game is a bit harder. Also since I beat bloodborne my play style has changed and I'm yoloing a bit much
