Honestly for P4 don't sweat it too much on what you should do. The main thing you want to do is get max S-Level with Marie by December I think (and lover? Not sure) so that you get her dungeon later on. There's too much going on to try to min/max a play through unless you are going for trophies. It will make the game tedious trying to follow guides.

Pretty much every day that it is available you should be doing an S-link event. The combat is hardest for the first two dungeons, and then pretty much become trivial.

So I restarted dark souls 2 for a third time, this time making a strength character and everything has been going pretty well! I love the Sorcerer, but it was too expensive and time consuming to try and get strength from 3 to 16ish or so to use things I wanted.

With this guy I'm easily using the fire long sword. Funny as right before I got the fire sword, I found a hand axe and that thing is crazy good damage as well. Has made things much easier, compared too trying to kill guys with a tiny dagger or broken sword.

I really want to pump some magic stats right now but will stick with melee for right now. Will be the normal str/faith build eventually.

Just get the 10 INT and 13 ADP. Souls grow on trees once you get the hang of it.

How far are you getting before restarting? My newest character felt like shit (str melee only build) until after I killed the pursuer. Now he's just tearing through. Of course I already beat the game before so it's different for me. Plus compared to bloodborne bosses the bosses in this game are so easy.

I was getting basically to the Cardinal tower bonfire area on everyone. Reason for this is that my sorcerer could kill the turtle looking hammer dudes easily, but I didn't like running out of magic. My Dex character I didn't like because I was doing terrible damage, so the bigger bads were taking so many hits, and therefore so many more chances to screw up and die. Both of those problems are a non issue in my strength character so far.

Furthest I've gotten is just pass the first boss that's up on top of a roof you climb a ladder to get too. I died once and decided to skip him. Died soon after when getting jumped by multiple Knight dudes.

As far as a normal str/fth build, was just referring to the common pairing of those 2 skills. I have done zero research as to whether it would still work or not.

If you're having trouble with those knights right after the ladder you can 1) kite them back up the ladder and finish them off, 2) pick a few off with ranged attack of some sort then just wreck the rest or 3) rape them with firebombs.

I at least expected the ambush from balistas because of the notes on the ground. But yeah, should be ok, just gotta give it a few more tries.

XB1 Controller work well with TLR on PC?
There are separate settings in the config for mouse, keyboard and gaming controller. I don't have a controller on my PC so I don't know how well it works but the mouse/keyboard combo works just fine.

I assume you're talking about the pursuer that gets dropped by the bird?

If so, that happens exactly once and if you die or run away he never comes back in that spot.

The first boss is actually a little further ahead.

Oh you poor sweet summer child.

The first boss is easier than the pursuer. The pursuer will eat a new player for breakfast haha.

I never actually saw him get dropped by a bird. Was a floating Knight though with shiny armor, big sword and shield?

I was too distracted by all the loot that's up there to notice a boss was about to gank me!

I thought all BB bosses were much easier than the average DkS 2 boss except for Logarius - fuck that guy.

Neither game had bosses on the level of Ornstein & Smough and Four Kings though.

Fuck the pursuer. I'm on my first play through ever (not sure how I missed this game when it came out) and of all the bosses I've fought he's the one that gave me the most difficulty. I really suck at parrying though. Only thing I did before starting to play was look up a hex build with weapons I'd like but the silverblack spear I wanted didn't drop for me and I've killed all the wardens in the earthen area to the point they dont respawn. Does it drop anywhere else or am I screwed?

If you burn a bonfire ascetic it'll respawn the enemies for another cycle. They'll be at ng+ level, though. And when you go to ng+ they will be at ng++. Make sure to use it at the right bonfire.

Use a Bonfire Ascetic to get them to respawn. Be sure to equip your Coveteous Gold Serpent Ring and other items that increase drop rate.

Spoiler for Persuer Strategy:

Parrying is pretty ballsy but completely unnecessary against him. Just dodge his attacks by rolling forward (to get behind him). Rolling left or right is okay too, but will give you less time to attack him inbetween his attacks. Rolling backwards will get you killed. A lot.

Alternatively, parry him while he's in front of one of the ballistas then fire it for massive damage. Or just get him in front of a ballista and fire it anyways.

I finally fired up Tales of Zestiria. I'm only a couple of hours in (just became the Shepherd) but so far I'm really enjoying it. It seems to have a fairly decent backstory and the game looks fantastic on PS4.

I liked Xillia but I kind of had to force myself through Xillia 2. Ludgar just wasn't a likable protagonist and I can't stand when they make the main character silent. I know it's a Japanese trope but it annoys me. I know Tales of Vesperia is pretty well loved but I only thought it was OK. It's one that I'd actually like to go back and give a second chance to but that would require digging out the old Xbox.

For pursuer just dodge left, always left. Not sure if Kriptini posted the cheese strategy but if so I would avoid that your first playthrough for not so obvious reasons

The story is really good, actually. I found it on par or slightly less than Tales of the Abyss. If you are the type who likes collecting trophies and such though I have a few pointers for you (there are spoilers in second paragraph though so ignore that if you dont want to be spoiled).

Try your best to save your money throughout the game. Once you get to Lohgrin and have the lord of the land buy apple gels only and offer them to the lord of the land. Rinse/repeat until they have drop bottles available (3.5 stars I think). Then, buy 15 of them if you can. Stay at an inn which has something like "Deal 5000 damage get 50% more gald". Lohgrin has a "Deal 10000 damage get 75% more gald" with prawns but I think thats much harder to get when you're in your first playthrough. Before you get in a battle with a boss that you know drops gald, set difficulty to simple (this is so you can use all 15 drop bottles in a reasonable time - higher difficulties make you wait longer between item uses) and then enter fight. Use all 15 drop bottles, and do your best to deal enough damage to trigger the bonus gald from the inn food. Once you kill the boss, you should get anywhere from 1.5-2.5 million gald (depending on the boss fought). If you continue to do this for every boss, then you'll have more than enough gald so that you can raise all of your lord of the lands to rank 25, making your new game+ a laughably easy romp through the game even on chaos mode. Bear in mind after earning this much gald, teleporting costs a TON since the price scales with how much gald you have so you'll want to quickly burn that money buying shit and giving it to your lord of the lands over and over again.

Many people say to use the giant mimic treasure chest trick. This works too, but there isn't really a reason to! You can just do it on the normal bosses during the game. I think this trick is for people who are farming gald post-game and already blew the chance to do it on the normal bosses. Also, when you get the point when Simone puts you in an area with no map and no compass late in the game and you end up fighting yourself and one of your seraphs, do this trick for those, especially. On my NG+, I have double-gald x2, the inn 75% bonus, and 30 drop bottles and that fight alone drops over 30 million gald.
