No date yet, so you're probably looking at six months or so. MS paid for the worldwide release of SO4, Sony isn't doing the same this time around.
I can dream right?

Also the new Odin Sphere is coming sometime late spring I believe, Nights of Azure is coming in March. Persona 5 in the summer (!!!).

Yeah, June 7 for Odin Sphere. Can't wait, got the storybook edition pre-ordered. Now if Vanilliaware could just get someone to back a HD remaster of Grand Knights History...

Nights of Azure is at the very end of March. I was pretty interested in this until I watched some of the Japanese version gameplay, which did not look nearly as good as I hoped. The action combat in particular looked pretty dull. Still going to GameFly it, just not nearly as optimistic as I was.

P5 is out this summer in Japan, we'll be very lucky if we get it this year.

I finally finished Tales of Zestiria. I liked the game overall. But the combat system was, definitely, a step back from Tales of Xillia. But it had a good story and the pace seemed pretty good. The ending was a bit WTF? but I'm fine with it. Overall I think the first Xillia was better but Zestiria was a solid game. My biggest complaint was it seemed every battle was simply L1 to Armatize (Lailah was the bestest waifu) and then proceed to spam the O button over and over and over and over and over again.

That was a good one. Also good was if you armatized the blue archer dude (holy crap at this point I can't even remember the character names) you could chain combo his big AOE splash and do almost full screen chain stun damage. You had to kind of combo it and do it off the third attack for short cast time, but it was extremely broken.

Thats pretty much it, lol. The combat was not as controlled as previous Tales, this was just button mashing mostly. Comparatively to the control you had with varying combinations in Vesperia it was way subpar. I cant remember Xillia as much bc i quit not even 3 hours in and Graces i also quit near the end bc it was lame.

Started Trails in the Sky and having some trouble getting into it. It's as slow as claimed, but what's odd is that I'm getting my ass kicked. I'm in the first area after the sewers that has battles and everything two-shots me. I don't have enough gold (or whatever) for more gear because there hasn't been an opportunity to earn it.

A - and then i was doing 5min runs on the last boss once my group was set up. I never killed that reaper dude but the game has its atmospheres down pretty good and still has some of the best dungeon design imo.
Reaper was a pain, especially if your build was arcane archery based, but had baller loot. Not as good as if you got the killshot on the server side dragon, but still......

Not sure what you mean there; by the time you're able to kill Death everything from the ur-dragon is obsolete. Magick archer can kill it with Explosive Bolt, provided you have one of the Dark Arisen bows and stack 4 demon periapt buffs. (Edit: Ranger with blast arrows is much easier though, of course.)

I find myself really jonesing for a good fantasy-type RPG, especially after spending so much of the last year doing Destiny and Fallout 4. Nothing I see out looks to be all that suitable to my tastes, unfortunately. I never really got into the Witcher and it seems the number of games where you can just jump in and have some fun is fairly limited. I am looking forward to the Division, but that still doesn't do anything to scratch my fantasy magic itch. I'm afraid I might just succumb and go back to WoW for the sake of accessibility.

Been playing Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (First chapter) and dayum this is a really good story and really good RPG. No VOs so have to read everything and it's a huge book of dialog, but it's very very fun, and reviewed (rightfully) very high.

If you're looking for a JRPG with a great story give it a shot.

I'm hoping it eventually gets ported to something I can sit back and play on a TV. I was playing it until maybe a couple weeks ago and enjoying it well enough, but there's something about jrpg's that seem forbidding when I can't play 'em on my couch or in my bed.

Steam Link?
Speaking of this piece of shit, how in the hell does it work? I have it linked to my PC, and the audio doesn't work, and the buttons on my controller are not right (eg: A is B, B is X, etc). I've tried three different controllers, and none of them work. I've tried like 5 games with steam link (with no audio) and none of them are playable for me. I've looked online, and every "fix" people mention doesn't work for me, not to mention I've also since upgraded to a whole new computer and both my old PC and this PC have identical issues. Steam says to use HDMI audio, but with nvidia there's no way to activate it except for a monitor, which you have to connect to HDMI to even work. So I have no idea how to get the thing to work, sadly. I've checked volume, tried on-board audio, and even set to SPDIF-Passthrough (that was a suggestion from reddit) nothing works. Most people have zero problems with this thing, but for the life of me I can't get it to work at all other than video (which streams very nicely)

Anybody try FF Explorers? I know it wasn't reviewed particularly well, but reddit seems to love it. Hell, Gamefaqs - which is to my mind the bitchiest forum on the internet - seems to like it.

i had problems getting into witcher 2, then i gave witcher 3 a try and forced myself through the start and some less than memorable moments,, but it really hooked me for a damn good story where your choices matter RPG. Might be worth pushing through for u.

Pre-purchase Disgaea PC on Steam

Feb 24th.
Wet dreams do indeed come true. So i was in college when this came out and had to get a major back fusion from good ole college football and was so fucking depressed laying the hospital for a week after the surgery before i could walk again. Parents had came down for the surgery and brought this game to me at the hospital. I played this every waking minute and the game combined with my hot ass nurse bringing me prime rib saved my sanity. So much work to to keep reincarnating gods; curious how many if any quality of life improvements they made.

Disgaea is my favorite series of all time in almost 30 years of gaming so this is definitely a must.
