I jumped on the Sodastream bandwagon a year ago and I'm ashamed to admit that after a few months it disappeared into the closet, never to be seen again. If any of you want one PM me and you can have mine for free lol.. After awhile it just wasn't worth the hassle.. In concept you figure you'll be saving money and trips to the store, but in reality it costs almost as much as off the shelf soda, doesn't taste as good, and in the end it's probably more hassle than trips to the store anyways. First off you have to be stocked up on the syrups, then you have to have enough 1L expensive "proprietary" bottles so you aren't making soda every day, and of course you have to stay on top of the gas canister exchanges.. After a few months of ordering syrups, exchanging canisters, rinsing plastic bottles, cleaning up dripped syrup, and fetching/storing the Sodastream every few days, an epiphany hit-- I was still going to the grocery store just as often, I just wasn't lifting a case of Sprite into my trunk anymore.. Ultimately, 20% savings off of regular soda and a 10% reduction in bicep usage when doing groceries wasn't enough to offset the hassle of dealing with the Sodastream..
