Actually, I said "maybe" they're narcissists, but whether they are or they aren't I don't think they're a problem. I believe that.

I suggested that people who think they ARE a problem (a group I am not a part of) are not doing themselves any favors by showering people THEY believe to be narcissistic attention whores with attention. I believe that too.

Seriously, look at this shit. It's one thing to say "ignoring the problem won't make it go away". I can somewhat understand that stance, even though it's wrong on both counts (that what is being discussed is even a "problem" and that depriving those you disagree with from attention won't shut them up). But what cracks me up is there is no alternative solution even presented. It's just a nebulous "fighting them", as if wringing your hands with a bunch of like-minded irrational angry assholes is gonna make SJWs back down. "We're 'fighting', men! Keep up the 'fight'!" The closest thing to a "solution" I've seen suggested (and I could NOT be using the term more loosely) is "mock and ridicule them", which is so over-the-top stupid it boggles my mind that someone alive at this point in human evolution can actually believe that that is a productive and feasible way to combat ANY problem.

I actually agree with this. The problem is that many people conflate "mocking and ridiculing" with "dragging into the light", when the two couldn't be further apart.

Take Sarkeesian, for example. If more people had followed the "calm, rational, non-attack-filled rebuttal" formula of criticism, all the flaws in her arguments would have been exposed and people would have had easy access to explanations as to what she's wrong about. Instead, SO MANY people went with the "click-baity, obnoxious, polarizing attack piece" formula that they completely overshadow the actual valid criticism available. While I'm sure Thunderf00t's fans love his "lies you want to hear" style, he didn't help drag ANYTHING "into the light". He just further riled up a lot of already-riled-up assholes and distracted from any productive discussion.

This is why I call bullshit every time I hear people talking about the dangers of the SJW scourge. They have ZERO fucking interest in fixing any kind of problem, all they want is to FIGHT. Give an angry irrational asshole a villain he can outrage over and he's happier than a pig in shit. Doesn't matter if his bitching achieves exactly the opposite of what he claims to be fighting for, that's besides the point. The important thing is the FIGHT. With us or against us!
