Yeah. Oldboy was such a good movie, what point is there to remake it? So people don't have to read the subtitles? Boo fucking hoo.

It's definitely one of the great movies of the past decade, and regardless of how good the remake is, at most it will only be as good as the original and most likely worse.

It's part of a trilogy with the central subject being revenge/vengeance, with Sympathy for Mr Vengeance, Old Boy and Lady Vengeance. Old boy is probably the best of the 3(and while a trilogy they don't have any link to each other so order is irrelevant) but the other 2 are also worth watching if you have some free time as they're pretty good movies too.

Anything Park Chan-Wook is worth at least a watch, if not for the story for the cinematography, but oldboy is definitely a must. Hands down, probably one of my favorites, if not one of the better directors of our time.
