We stayed in a cabin about a mile north of Chalet Village just a few months ago. I'll be really sad to think of that place burning down.

Those roads up to the cabins are crazy - one lane each way basically hanging onto the side of the mountain. I was white-knuckles driving a minivan up and down those roads. I can't even imagine driving down those in a wildfire. Might be the craziest thing I've ever seen.

Wife and I go up there for a weekend most years for our anniversary... in January. It ain't no shit about white knuckling the wheel while driving those things in anything other than sunny and dry. Heart really breaks for those folks.
