i remember seeing this couple making swords on a different channel a few years ago. i believe shes like the only female sword "helper" in japan, b/c women are not allowed in the forge cuz of whatever bad omen you want to spew (i believe women are allowed to "prep" the forge but have to leave once the fire starts)


i think the swordsmith was like, fuck it, he can't find apprentices cuz who wants to make samurai swords anymore?
(he makes swords, but no one can afford em so he makes knives as an obvious suppliement to income)
