does anyone really need to eat or drink something during a movie?
Yeah I really like getting the ICEE at AMC. Rarely do I get something to eat though. If it's the first show then popcorn will be my breakfast.I rarely ever eat during a movie. I do need to have a drink of some sort though. Usually a Coke or Cherry Icee.
when i saw rambo 5, my best friend offered to pay for my ticket cuz he really loves Stallone movies, much more than i do. so i was like ok. then when we get in the theater he pops for th large popcorn and drink for both of us. i was thinking to myself. this guy just spent 50 bucks for a 90 minute movie. it made me feel bad so i then treated him to dinner afterward at a typical NJ diner. beers and burgers. 50 bucks not including tip. so i felt better. i never do popcorn and drinks at the movies, even when i used to spend the day there sneaking into films, i would just hit up the water fountain. i'm a cheap prick and i'm not ashamed to admit it.I rarely ever eat during a movie. i have concocted a scam that i never tried though. at AMC they offer "free refills" with their popcorn and drinks. how that works is you bring back the empty cup of popcorn or drink cup and they give you fresh one with popcorn and drink. what i noticed is people never get the refill and at the end of the movie they just leave their cups of whatever in the seat or they pigpile it into the garbage can til it overflows. it would seem easy to just grab a spare "used" cup and go over to concessions for the free refill. anyone ever try that? i'm just curious if that idea works.
i mean i never went that far. there is a fine line between being cheap in general and being a full fledged garbage picker, but ive picked up after assholes who dump their popcorn box on the floor as they leave the theater. i always wondered if could trade in this box that i just picked up for a new box of fresh hot popcorn at the concession. thats how my idea started. i assume they know somehow and its a no go, i just wondered if its possible.I mean I'd rather just sneak in a snapple or something than go trash diving at a movie theater.

i think they only give receipts if you pay by credit card. i think its a feasible idea, i just dont know anyone thats ever tried it.I mean I'm sure it's possible, unless they also ask for the receipt.
The local chain here has $1.25 refills with their loyalty cup and a similar cheap popcorn option with a loyalty tshirt.i was thinking to myself. this guy just spent 50 bucks for a 90 minute movie.
I dont know what part of this post needs to be fucked with the most. The very pleasant first date you had with the dude or the dumpster diving. Did you see the dude again?when i saw rambo 5, my best friend offered to pay for my ticket cuz he really loves Stallone movies, much more than i do. so i was like ok. then when we get in the theater he pops for th large popcorn and drink for both of us. i was thinking to myself. this guy just spent 50 bucks for a 90 minute movie. it made me feel bad so i then treated him to dinner afterward at a typical NJ diner. beers and burgers. 50 bucks not including tip. so i felt better. i never do popcorn and drinks at the movies, even when i used to spend the day there sneaking into films, i would just hit up the water fountain. i'm a cheap prick and i'm not ashamed to admit it.

Neither happened, but dont let it stop you.I dont know what part of this post needs to be fucked with the most. The very pleasant first date you had with the dude or the dumpster diving. Did you see the dude again?
I've seen free refills at theaters and they actually refill. They put the popcorn into a different small cup and pour that into your bag. Drinks they just put back under the fountain.

I don't know if I posted on FoH about this, but there's a few cinema chains here in Aus that have Gold Lounge. Big comfortable recliners, limited seating numbers.
I had a look at perhaps going to one a few months back, $46.00 just for the seat. You can buy light meals or fancy dessert items, it's a couples night idea. Those meals and snacks also are not cheap. So 2 people going to a film and getting something for snacking are out of pocket by $120-130 easy. FYI aus $ = 64 cents US ( I just checked as of typing this )
I figure if there's a widespread drop in average income due to Covid, these gold lounges will die. But in truth I cannot see how they were a viable thing before when cinema tickets here are pretty cheap, if you go middle of the day = $8.00, $12.00 at night
Even the ones that are a step down from gold lounge are the Titan cinema

I watched 1917 in Titan lounge, was great. $16.00 huge cinema massive screen lots of room.
Again how the Gold lounge has a market is ???? to me.
Dude is retarded. Even if theaters are open by then, they won't be able to have the same capacity and I doubt even a lot of people will be going to them.I thought this was interesting, Nolan is pushing Tenet to be released in July on schedule no delays and a lot of theater chains seem to be open to the idea for now

Its certainly ballsy but I just don't see how a studio agrees unless there is some weird "if we lose enough money, we make money!!" Producers angle. Theaters will likely enforce some sort of distancing (lower ticket sales), and how many people are honestly gonna be super excited to go to a theater and breathe the air of other people for 2.5 hours? No matter how much they talk about cleaning disinfecting etc how much are you gonna trust the guys who can't even clean popcorn and soda from aisles most of the time.
i wouldnt even wear a mask unless required to. this is all gonna be a dream by july. i will see Tenet in the theater.I thought this was interesting, Nolan is pushing Tenet to be released in July on schedule no delays and a lot of theater chains seem to be open to the idea for now
