i got an email from amd with my steam thief key, not bad for $8 on ebay (and also got dirt 3 and something else), its set up as a pre-order in my steam library but not downloadable yet

i also got portal 1 & 2 as gifts for some odd reason (something else though)

Pirate console versions maybe. If you're seeing PC versions, they're fakes. It's not possible to crack a Steamworks game prior to release.

Pre-load is 20GB, hopefully that bodes well for texture resolution and cutscene quality.

I have caught a couple different streams now of people who got a PS4 copy early, and the game seems like piece of shit. I'm still gonna keep the game in my gamefly queue for this tuesday anyways but after seeing it in action i am no longer as excited for it.

Thief was never a particularly fun game to watch, the play to watch ratio on it was very play skewed - I can't imagine ANY videos of it done right being fun to watch. (Note: I thought Hitman looked like the most boring piece of crap watching videos of it, when I got it on PS+ and said screw it and gave it a shot I enjoyed it enough to Platinum it... and it has the same general concept of playstyle, precise play being the fun element rather than wizbang stuff)

Not really surprising. I don't think this game will be for anyone except people who really love stealth shit, same as the original games.
