huh. wasn't much talk about this.

I'm getting to it now. its on amazon prime.

My initial response was pretty low. Tilda's character start off pretty unrelatable or likeable. She and her character really drag the whole thing down.
The movie really shines with the djinn and his stories of the past, full of magic and wonder. "Looks like a Terry Gilliam film". yes. VERY much so.

the feminist revisionist history can be annoying.
bigot british ladies... sigh...
the choice to make all the past scene spoke IN those languages. eeeeh. more frustrating as even CC doesn't translate. Half the movie "speaking in turkish"

the beta cuck djinn. the whole thing seems written for women, who don't really understand women. the djinn is a total simp, exists to pine for, and cater to the whims of women, with no real desires or will of his own. what women really wants that? its the thing they SAY they want, might even try for it. but would quickly lose interest in any man with lives only to cater to her whims.

its probably worth a watch if you love Gilliam's works. especially, the adventures of Baron Munchausen. But overall its not as good. Visually fantastic. the stories to the past are fantastic.. all the modern stuff is awful.

This was actually good. There's not much of a plot but the special effects are some of the best I've ever seen. The movie is basically a demo for HDR on a high end TV.

Adebisi Adebisi even has a cameo.
