I watched this and I really liked it. God damn the tiger industry is batshit. Nonetheless here's my dumbass opinoin.
Joe Exotic is basically an idiot who fell into something he happened to be good at. He had plenty of his own issues JUST like the rest of the Tiger zoo dudes. But I would say he was most likely fairly harmless. Even though he said TONS of extremely dumb shit.
Carol Baskin is EXACTLY like a few dozen executive level women I've met in my life. They are super cool to talk to and are absolute rockstars at interpersonal relationships. Especially in the office and similar. The kind of person who can fuck you over, be nice to you and convince you it was for your own good despite them benefiting from it at your expense. Like seriously. The qualities she has are so similar to that it blows my mind.
I had some mentoring early in my career about just staying out of this kind of woman's way when it came to the office and It's helped me ever since. Nothing to gain from trying to fight that shit. I even admired some of them for their complete ruthlessness. But if you wanted to ride their coattails you had to be a woman. In my experience.
The third guy was a legit cult leader with dozens of beautiful women as his members. Props dude. Nice.

There's a big difference between being "gay for pay" and shooting a couple of 30 minute gay sex scenes because (in the 90s) it was good pay. Also I’m very pro exotic animal breeding and keeping. IF you can keep them well. Too many are broke bums that can’t afford it or do it right. Also as a American we should have the right to keep them and breed them , so long as it’s humane and done to standards. Want to see a ton of shit go extinct? Ban captive breeding (like that dumb bitch wants) and trust the 3rd world shit holes to keep their tiny wild populations going. See how that works out

I mean maybe she's an unhinged crackpot, but BCR still does a lot good work caring for animals that have (mostly) suffered a lifetime of abuse. And captive breeding should be banned unless it's explicitly part of a wild release program, which is the one specific exception GFAS allows for accredited rescues.

Oh I didn't know she was a full on PETA cultist lol. The laws are too lax surrounding exotic animal ownership. If owners were actually required to provide them with a decent sized enclosure, I probably wouldn't care, but big cats tend to languish in cages barely large enough for them to turn around in.

There are laws. The problems are the bums flaunting them. It’s like the gun debate , don’t grab my guns (exotic animals) because of x,y,z.
you’ve already said what is important , the laws should call for humane treatment and be enforced. I agree with that and I also say it should apply to ALL animals, domesticated too.

Will I hate humans if I watch this though? I feel I'm missing out with its exponentially growing popularity but I feel I'm better off avoiding it in the same way I don't watch Springer because I just feel more pity and sorrow for these humans than joy out of their shitty, fucked up lives.
