Blizzard is no longer Blizzard. Hopefully the sun sets and they fall into obscurity making retarded parlor Hearthstone games until the end of time.

Blizzard is doing the same thing now that they have always done.
Pretty much. WoW was an aberration in my mind. It became far larger than they ever dreamed. I think the problem is everyone (including me) now has lofty expectations and they've really done nothing but fall short of them since.

SC2 has been insanely slow to finish, overpriced for the content and the multiplayer just not as timeless as the original. D3 was a disappointment, the expansion basically made it what the initial release should have been. Hearthstone is fun but just not complete.

Even though Blizzard is still head and shoulders above most other developers, they just aren't the WC3/D2/SC/WoW devs we used to know and their recent releases show that.

It makes me curious though because Tigole left WoW to work on Titan, I wonder if he's returning??
Or if he even works at Blizzard anymore? lol

What about some of the other devs?
There's hope in me. I've been enjoying WoW but mostly out of hype for WoD. I would fucking kill to have a Warcraft 4 though, oh my god.

No HotS is damn fun. It is going to be a massive hit.
There's no way a DOTA clone can ever pull in the casuals like WoW did. I don't care how much fun the game is, the absurd, sociopathic hostility that these games' communities are known for will drive them away real fast. They should do some YouTube reaction videos showing new HOTS players react to the other players threatening to rape and murder their whole families on their second match ever.

Dota 2/LoL are actually interesting games to me but I'll never touch them due to this. I have a pretty thick skin, but i have no desire to be a clueless newbie inthatcommunity.

I like WoW and D3 a lot, but Heartstone is a extremely dumbed down version of the only card game worth mentioning and was fun for less than 24 hours. SC never interested me and HotS is pretty much the opposite of what makes a game fun for me. Titan cancellation was known, pre Blizzcon gives them one more thing to talk about I guess.
At this point, I wonder if D3 will ever receive another xpack or not. I'd like to get a couple new classes (druid and assassin again?

I wouldnt put it past Blizzard to not include a team chat function and only provide a set number of hotkeys for communication. It's really unthinkable for LoL or DotA to cripple their team-based game like that, but I'm sure HotS is aimed at casuals that would not mind or even notice. On the other hand, removing team chat would remove the toxic atmosphere that drives player type away from the game. The loss of coordination and team play that results from that choice wont bother the casuals because they rarely utilize it.

they could steal the voice commands from Smite where you type in certain key combinations and your hero automatically says a line (eg typing in VF3 will say 'Enemy missing right lane')
that way you won't really need a chat because you can communicate through pings and voice commands

I thought blizzard mostly made these fun compact polished experiences. I don't know, but style-wise d3, sc2, hearthstone, and hots seem more in line with Warcraft 3, sc, d1 and d2. I said nothing of quality or fun. I think wow is the aberration.

I guess Star Citizen Online is the next big game to look forward too. The game is for them to fail or succeed on. There has been no aberration really since Worlds of Warcraft. Hearthstone has been a pleasant surprise for Blizzard and some might argue that that game is the next aberration but I really hope it is Star Citizen. At this point Blizzard could redirect development back in WoW and Hearthstone. Why make a part 2 when you can just add more to the game that exists? Instead they can just revamp the graphics like they are doing and perhaps add deeper game play to Hearthstone with a Player verse Environment element. Blizzard has many years to go before they merge or die.

Shocked because evidence supports it? I think there is much more evidence to deny than support but you can feel ho you wish on it. I'm okay with you not agreeing with me. -shrug-

Destiny didn't go on all platforms because they stated it's too much to do. They have said that having it on PS4, PS3, XBone and the 360 was hard enough but throwing PC into the mix would have been way to much. Don't you think with their 10 year publishing deal they have going with Activision that perhaps "deep pockets" just might not be all there is to doing what you're thinking?
you... realize that destiny is coming to pc?

For all the bashing Eqnext is receiving, maybe, just maybe, it will succeed in many areas. With the voxel approach and everything it might set a new trend. Blizzard is in a position to just sit back, analyse Eqnext inside out and basically pull another Eq to WoW move.

Morhaime excuse of not wanting to be just a ''mmo'' company irritates me tho. Blizzard IS about doing and polishing the samething over and over, its what theyre known for. Theyre the sequel company. They need to get over their ego of being trendsetters, let that to indie companies. They need to pick up their ideas and refine the fuck outta them.

If EQN is great and we all play it for 5 years then WoW 2.0 comes out and it blows EQN out of the water and we play that for 5 years then we wait for 5 years playing shitty mmos 1 month at a time until EQNN comes out and the circle repeats forever.

..I'm ok with that

Ya, one thing Blizzard does do is recycle terminated projects and incorporate elements into other games, be it characters/lore or even certain mechanics.
Yeah. World of Warcraft was born from Warcraft Adventures.

More like EQN bombs, Blizzard refines EQN by making a landmark/storybricks accessible and very easy to use, and actually takes a refined EQN that couldn't be done by SOE's team even though the answers are staring them blankly in the face. The likely result if they even see the potential in that type of game.

HOTS already doesn't allow global chat. That cuts down on hostility pretty heavily because you can't go into global chat and start bashing a team mate. At least in DOTA for the most part that was the way the toxicity would play out. There is also the fact that in HOTS if your team sucks the game is over in 10-15 minutes. It doesn't take 30-45 minutes to end a won game. So people will just accept the loss and move on. They aren't forced to be tortured much longer than required.

And as someone said I wouldn't be 100% shocked if they removed chat completely from solo queue match making. I, personally, wouldn't care for it but if it makes them money and draws in casuals it seems logical.
