edit : to make it clear, it's a romanian tracker but it has a full english interface and while there's a lot of international users around here, we all have at least 100 mbps so download speed shouldn't be a problem.

It's my go to tracker for tv series mainly because they don't rar shit up and they're faster than iptorrents with new releases.

Any reason you are ditching IPT? Just curious if anything changed with them recently. I don't download many movies or TV shows during the summer since I'm busy with so many other things, so I haven't used them much in the last few months.(just enough to keep my account active)

Seedbox got 2 notices in the past week and I'm in the process of moving my box as a precaution. One was for Expendables 3 VAIN version and the other I don't remember. Personally I think they are too big to be secure / safe and would prefer to move to a smaller tracker for movies and such. I already have btn and TV torrents for those needs and BC for games just need movies covered. Everyone and their brother is on IPT, it's turning into pirate bay and I prefer to move on before there are any issues.

If I were the conspiracy theory type, I would be suspicious of that Expendables 3 release because it was constantly re-nominated for the top Staff Recommendation for several weeks to make sure people didn't miss it. Literally like the moment a new Staff Recommendation went up, Expendables 3 would be bumped above it again. For the better part of a month. It honestly had the look and smell of a honeypot to me, although I can come up with a few legitimate reasons for it as well. Who knows.

As far as an alternative, I'd give you an invite to PassThePopcorn if I had one, but no dice, sorry. I literally only have 1/10 the bonus points required to purchase an invite. If you can get in via something like the WhatCD power users forum, that's probably your best bet for a "real" movie tracker. TorrentLeech is good too, but it is pretty much IPT without the popularity (as in almost exactly the same torrents), the porn, and the freeleech. In other words, a lot harder to maintain ratio. I do have an invite for that if you're interested, but I'm not certain it is what you are looking for. If it is, PM me an email to send the invite to. Oh, and I sort of hate their format for info on each torrent. I can't explain it unless you can see it, but I would imagine a lot of people probably agree with me that it sort of sucks balls. It isn't difficult to get what you want, but if you're just browsing for something cool, you're better off looking on IPT and then seeing if it exists on TL.

Actually... invites to PTP are rather hard to come by. They require a large amount of points to purchase. For comparison... it costs more points for an invite than it would cost to upgrade to the next user class for some levels. Your best bet is going to either be waiting for a promotion when invites are given to users, or to go through What.cd PU+. I highly recommend going through What.cd as it's a sure bet and the promotions are few and far between. Once a year, typically.

Haven't seen anything come across in the mail though yet. Oh well, moving states, and ISP's in another month, if I do get anything at all.

Although I'm like Vvoid, and think it's very curious why it stayed as a Staff Pick for so long. Wonder if the higher ups of IPT, that I believe are seriously making crazy money, see the light at the end of the tunnel? Could be why they are asking for donations nearly constantly.

Anyone having any issues with whatbox lately? I don't know if my connection to them sucks, or if my ISP is somehow throttling me for FTP usage, but my download speed from the whatbox servers is total crap the last couple weeks.

I've been using whatbox as my seedbox for over a year now and I always get my full 50mbps download speed, for the past 2 weeks my downloads start out at 50mbps, but quickly slow down to less than 5mbps after about 30 seconds.

Of course running various speedtests on my connection looks fine, because I get full speed for the first 20-30 seconds, but anything that requires a long download just goes to utter shit.

I just can't figure out if its whatbox, or if its my ISP(Time Warner). I tend to want to blame TW, but I'm just not sure.

Are you over your cap for upload on the Whatbox? If so, you'll be throttled down even when using FTP I believe (not positive).

If not, I've randomly had that happen, particularly during "prime time" viewing hours, so perhaps more people are downloading at those times? Mine is in Netherlands so I don't always get full speed anyway, where is yours?

Of course, I've mostly stopped using FTP since I set up BTSync, but I have experienced what you are talking about in the past.

I also use a Netherlands-based whatbox server, and I typically get my full speed from it. Maybe next time I renew I might try switching server locations, just to see if that is the issue at all.

So, tvtorrents has been down for over a week and that's been my go-to site for everything for years. Is there a good site like that someone can point me to and throw me an invite to, if necessary?
