Unfortunately, almost no one has invites. It is near impossible to get one anymore. You have to be right below the "Overlord" (nigh unreachable by mortal men) class to even be able to buy one, and each one you buy costs an assload of bonus points. I'm at the level, but don't anticipate having even one invite for a good long time since it took all of my bonus points to level up. A couple months ago I detailed what it would take to get either Overlord or the points, if you care enough to go look.

Like I said in my last post, realistically, BTN is closed. You pretty much have to know someone on staff or admin. Overlord class is so ridiculously impossible to attain, there are only 7(?) of that class on the entire site. It pretty much takes years and top end seedboxes to make that happen. As Vvoid said, if you are at the appropriate level to purchase an invite, it costs millions of bonus points. Out of reach of mere mortals and even if you did, it would take a hell of a lot to convince me to hand it away to some random forum bro.

So, I'm thinking of nabbing the Star Wars DeSpecialized editions but it's been a while since I've torrented anything. What sites and torrent programs are recommended these days? I used to use TPB and uTorrent, but last I heard both are fucked?

Utorrent seems to have been working fine for me recently. Can't speak on TPB, though, as I haven't used it in a while.

If you really did get banned for VPN usage, you might want to drop into IRC and try to get your account back... As of an announcement today:

Funny thing is, I haven't pirated games in well over a decade. If you wait long enough, they are all pretty damn cheap and don't even get me started on the awesomeness of Steam sales. I torrent the fuck out to TV shows and movies, although I tend to purchase BluRay copies of the things I really like for flawless quality / support their work.

IPTorrents question:

Any pro tips on selected torrents that will yield high upload rates? I used to use points and convert them to upload credit, but my points have stagnated since they capped the number of active torrents that count for bonus points at 40.

The best seeding I've ever done is with a season of a popular TV show, right after the season ends. The last season of Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones, both were 30-40 gig downloads @ 720p, but I seeded both for about 6 months and uploaded over 1TB on both, 20.0+ ratio on each. I finally took them down after 6-7 months just because they took up a ton of storage space on my seedbox server, but the ratio was still growing every day.

This coming Sunday, check for the full season of Game of Thrones in HD, people will be snagging that for months to come. To a lessor extent, Netflix series when they release all at once (Orange is the new Black Season 3 releases tomorrow, etc)
